Season 4 Episode 24 :: Disgaea Island
Time for another video game episode!! This time we look at the recent releases of Dead Island and Disgaea 4, both incredible games that we had a lot of fun playing (even though we could only make sense out of one of them…) In this episode we have Mike, Brandon, Jonna, and Hex joining forces to talk about these awesome games.
We also take some time out to talk about a bunch of cartoons recently that we’ve been meaning to give you our collective 2 cents over but hadn’t found the time. Well, we apparently found the time. Enjoy!!

Night of the Living Dead (the original black and white version) had that scene where the girl bitten by the zombie becomes one and kills her father. I remember seeing that on TV and finding it really freaky.
I am pretty sure that most people don’t like to kill little kids in video games, though. Just sayin’.

Re: laws against depicting dead children in games. Dead Space has ‘lurkers’, necromorphs made from dead newborns. They’re mutated to where they don’t much look human though, so maybe they get a pass for that reason. But when I was Googling for an image of them, I came across a reference to another dead baby: in Dante’s Inferno, you fight unbaptised babies in Limbo, and they’re fairly realistic, besides the big scythe arms. So turns out Brandon’s full of shit 🙂 (kidding dude, love you really). Maybe dead kids is a big sticking point at certification, so most developers opt not to do it, but it apparently isn’t illegal.
@KeyWestReactor Couldn’t agree more. Sounds like they may have even given her too much volume this time. No argument here, too much is better than not enough.
@Virus Oh yeah, those babies were one of the many really awesome things about the otherwise crappy Dante’s Inferno. Yeah, I believe you’re right, it must be preference over a stipulation… though I’m sure some countries and legislators would disagree.
