  2. Nerdy Show After Dark :: Technology Ruined Nerdy Show’s ReMixMas

We must be jinxed! Once again our live crossover with Overclocked After Dark has been fraught with technical difficulties.  While you may not have been able to listen live, you can now enjoy the experience retroactively!  We share in a Merry ReMixMas, announce the winners of the OCADemy Awards (we lost- where were you guys?!), and we read a portion of the super-sexy sequel fanfic you fine people wrote for us.

    Take it away Stevo!

Yup.  What a fucking night.  2 1/2 hours of show even with constant technological hiccups and issues happening all over the place.  Well it still ended up being a red letter night, and we thank everyone who voted and helped out.

December is always an odd month for music releases. It’s rich with a lot of Holiday themed tracks, but there are also solid NON holiday tracks that sneak in that need some love. All this month, Hex has been dying to get these tracks out, but there hasn’t been a chance… UNTIL NOW!!

Not only is this a music HEAVY episode (four more than usual), but we also got two great guests!! Music Department Head of MAGFest, Big Mat, joins us to tell us exactly why YOU should be excited for the upcoming event as well as metal infused chiptune master, Danimal Cannon, to talk about his new album Roots. He will be at MAGFest, probably getting drunk with Hex. A good time will be had by all!

So kick back, grab the good head phones and enjoy this Musicsode!

  4. Nerdy Show Prime: Life Day Spectacular

Winter holiday specials are a time honored tradition. Some are simply strange attempts to cash in on the holiday season (*cough*StarWars*cough*), others are brilliant, creative outpourings in the name of warmth, family, togetherness, and the hope that maybe, just maybe we can make the world a better place.  We’d like to think this is the latter, but we’re willing to bet you’ll disagree.

Whatever you celebrate this holiday season – Nerdy Show is right there with you! We’ve got a nondenominational fest-stravaganza! (Well, unless Wookie is a denomination). Yes, it’s that time of year again, Life Day, when all Wookies return to Kashyyyk to celebrate. But unfortunately for Nerdy Show’s Wookie friend, Grumpy, he can’t get a lift to the forested planet. Instead, the Nerdy crew are taking him up to Brian’s cabin in the woods where he can commune, but there’s one big problem – they’re stuck in the worst holiday traffic jam of all time!

Join the entire Nerdy Show gang – yes, all of us – including Flame On and Marc With a C as well as special guests I Fight Dragons! Plus a Dungeons & Doritos Crunchmas Special! We guarantee, you’ve never in your life experienced a holiday show like this. (more…)

  5. Flame On :: Happy Harnessmas!

Oral might be missing, but the Flame ON! boys still manage to send their seasons greetings with a ho ho and a whole lotta HO! This end-of-year episode dishes on all the latest of geeky gaydom, and we also each share our top favorite moments of the year! Tune in to hear it all from Bryan the Bear, Eric the Power Daddy, Jarrod the Alterna-Guy, and The Question!

    Movies

We were blown away by the 6-minute prologue and trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, but what the hell was Bane saying? I’m not sure, but it might have been something about the new Lord of the Rings Legos! Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows also intrigued the mysterious Question with an ending that might surprise you, and Jarrod briefly discusses his thoughts on the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (hint, Tom Cruise still hasn’t come out!).

    Games

Star Wars: The Old Republic just launched and has already force choked dozens of hours out of Bryan’s life. He’s starting to grow pale, wear hooded cloaks, and spark electricity from his fingertips, so maybe he oughta slow down on leveling that Sith Inquisitor! Hear his thoughts on his first experiences with this huge new MMORPG!

The Force might be strong with Bryan, but The Question has collected the Triforce! He raves about The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and its incredible gameplay. For once his arm is hurting from swinging the Wii-mote instead of fapping to gay porn!

    TV

The Walking Dead is dead until next year while American Horror Story hits a terrifying crescendo! Make sure to listen in for the latest scoop on both!

    Gay News

Chic-fil-A might taste good, but its heavy donating to anti-gay causes has got our feathers ruffled! Also, Bryan gets an education on what bara porn is from Jarrod, and George Tekai is at it again as he tries to make peace between Princess Leia and Captain Kirk!

    Fan Questions

Think twice before sending out that dick pic! The boys answer a listener’s question about the pros and cons and scandals of sending out nude pictures and videos! We didn’t know Bryan did amateur porn!

Another fan wants some advice on how to deal with a lover and a friend who just don’t get along!

    Comics

Peter Panzerfaust has got us excited, while Locke and Key scares up another amazing issue.

The DCnU is still firing on all cylinders, so hear our thoughts on the round of #4 issues including Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Batgirl, and Shade!

Marvel is no slouch either as they knock Uncanny X-Force out of the park with the conclusion of the incredible Dark Angel Saga! It’s a great time to be an X-Men fan, plus the company has been ramping up for the huge Avengers vs. X-Men event next year!

    Top Moments of the Year

There was a lot of great movies, comics, new items, and awesome happenings this year, so make sure to stick around to hear all of our favorites. Oral couldn’t make it, but he wanted everyone to know that he is most grateful for double bladed light sabers, although that is really code for something else that can penetrate on both ends.

The Flame ON! boys want to thank all you nerds, geeks, and homos out there who have made 2011 so awesome, exciting, and overwhelmingly homoerotic! Have a very special Harnessmas, each and every one of you!

    Tracks:

    1. I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus :: Ru Paul

    1. Republic Centurions
  6. Dungeons & Doritos :: Crunchmas 2011

Merry Crunchmas one and all! What’s a holiday season without unwrapping something shiny and new to play with? Or, howabout revisiting classics?  We’ve got a bit of both for you this Cruchmas.  Thanks to the clever mind and amazing dedication of listener Matti Ollila, aka M, we’ve put together a special Crunchmas gift: A Dungeons & Doritos Mod for Neverwinter Nights 2! Plus there’s a new Crunchmas carol in town that’s sure to become a classic. (more…)

December has been a busy month for us behind the scenes, working on bigger projects than our usual week-to-week episodes. As a result we haven’t had a chance you talk with you, our beloved fan peoples. Oi, smegheads!  A fine bloke by the name of Been requested that we spend a microsode talking about our collective favorite sci-fi comedy of all-time, Red Dwarf. Fan-smegging-tastic! If you have yet to experience Dwarf; be it in television, or book form – get ready to meet your new favorite sci-fi series! It’s the only sci-fi comedy series to go toe to toe with Hitchhiker’s Guide, and it holds its own.  What’s more – Dwarf is coming back!  We got a taste after a long hiatus in 2009, but Lister, Rimmer, Cat, and Kryten are due to return in 2012 and we couldn’t be more excited.
