Our Ghostbusters Roleplaying Hub Has Launched!
You’ve watched the films on repeat, you played with the action figures, you strapped a vacuum cleaner to your back even as an adult – you’ve been preparing for this day: the day you become a Ghostbuster. Wait no more friend, Nerdy Show has you covered! We’ve launched The Ghostbusters Roleplaying Hub!
Our tabletop roleplaying show Ghostbusters: Resurrection created a homebrew version of the original 198os Ghostbusters roleplaying game in order to include ghost-busting mainstays like the slimeblower and the canonical equipment of Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Along the way, they created new gear and new rules, including a comprehensive look at the spectrum of ectoplasm and streamlined methods for creating ghosts and clients. This is a fan project built on a love for the original series, the original RPG, and their legacy of big laughs and spooky pseudoscience. Now, anyone can play with our expanded ruleset, but better still – they can do it in style!
In order to play the Ghostbusters system you need a couple items: Equipment Cards and a Ghost Die. The Equipment Cards determine what items a player is carrying and act as a quick reference for how it works, and the Ghost Die is a 6-sided die with a special facing that’s essential to Ghostbusters’ chaotic and fun gameplay. In order to usher in a new era of Ghostbusters roleplaying, we’ve redesigned both. The deck of 50 Equipment Cards has been expanded by Ghostbusters: Resurrection‘s Doug, redesigned by Nerdy Show‘s lead host Cap, and features newly redesigned Ghostbusting equipment from Matasm, illustrator of GB:R‘s episode art. It’s been a labor of love developed by the Nerdy Show crew alongside the fans, as chronicled in this forum thread over the past year.
You can either print-your-own Equipment Cards and redesigned Personnel Files (Player ID Cards) or fans can support the project and pick up a professionally printed deck and laser-etched Ghost Dies. In addition to The Starter Kit (the card deck and a Ghost Die) we also offer The Franchise Kit – with the Equipment Cards, Ghost Die, 12 ectoplasmic d6s, 5 Personnel Files on premium cardstock and stamped, and a certificate with your franchise’s name on it!
