Nerdy Show 271 :: Even Stranger Things
The Nerdy Show Network’s flagship podcast unloads on the latest geek news and happenings!
Peculiar things are afoot at Nerdy Show. Stranger Things than normal, you might say. But we’re not only spending some long-overdue time discussing this summer’s breakout TV series, we’re making our own investigation into some paranormal happenings. This time it’s not us reaching into the void: something reached out. The Central Florida Ghostbusters got a very unusual call from a man alleging to work at The Montauk Project, a notorious hub for government experiments, and in this episode we call him back.
Join Cap, Doug, Trench and Briggs before they’re black bagged , framed, or otherwise disposed of for sniffing where they oughtn’t. We dig into the lore of Overwatch, the potential conspiracy theory inspirations of Stranger Things, the surprising social satire of the new Flintstones comic, a couple indie games worth checking out, and the secrets we know about the forthcoming Protomen short film, Light Up the Night.

By win the doctor who debate you mean come off mean spirited asshole, I hated that episode and I’m not even into doctor who. It made it so that I didn’t want to hear you guys talk about thing I Do care about
Sorry to hear that, man. I’ve always felt it was more of playful rivalry thing. We’re all friends and we’ve all go thick skin. If someone doesn’t like something I’m passionately into, I just let it roll.
holy crap, i think I may have stumbled on something related to your Montauk Project mystery call.
I was just listening to the Makeup and Vanity Set album, “7.25.2148” — which you reference in Nerdy Show Bookclub “Di Niromancer.” At the end of the track, “Turing/Gone Dark” there’s a spoken word, which, to my ears, sounds alarmingly like the caller. I could be grasping at straws, but I just stumbled on it.
Ha! I love that! I think we’ve got a different, more poetic guy there. But I would love if that were a thing. More people need to leave mysterious answering machine messages. It makes the world a more interesting place.
Indeed 🙂
