Nerdy Show Microsode: Geeky Cars

Posted by NerdyShow on February 22, 2017

When The Nerdy Show Network’s flagship podcast isn’t unloading on the latest geek news and happenings, we’re diving deep into super-specific discussions and interviews.

In this impromptu Microsode, we veer sharply into the fast lane and have a rapid fire discussion about our favorite geeky cars – the automobiles in pop culture that we nerd out the hardest over. Yes, we finally let ultra car nut, Ghostbusters: Resurrection‘s Adam Briggs take the wheel, and along for the ride is fellow Ghostbuster Mike Wall, Wicked Animes Jonathan Fleming, and your resident Nerdy Show mainstays Cap and Brandon.

Discover the geek whips that we dig the most, learn a thing or two about what cars Briggs loves and loathes, attempt to figure out what the heck is up with Kamen Rider Drive, and brace yourselves as we find out how many topical detours can we take before we crash this thing in a ditch and had to look for a local expert like this car injury lawyer fresno.

  1. There was one thing that came to my mind when hearing this show that I hadn;t thought about in years: TurboTeen. A crazy cartoon from the 80s, in which “Brett,” your all-american average teen (but with a super cool, expensive sports car) crashes into an experimental lab… DURING AN EXPERIMENT…. which causes him and his car to merge, granting him the ability to turn into his sports car when exposed to heat (as you do).

This was one of those extra-whacked out cartoons that sticks with you as a kid. I hadn’t thought about it for years, but this episode sent me on the hunt for it.

Here’s the intro… soooo dumb, and soooo 80’s. But as a kid? I loved this shit 🙂

As an adult, watching this kinda gives me the creeps, in a body-horror sort of way. Funny that as a kid, it just seemed cool to me.

    • There was a discussion after this episode that when I said “AutoMan” in this episode, the show that was actually being described by whomever was asking (I wanna say…. Brandon?) was, in fact, Turbo Teen.
