The Real Congregation :: Seven Inches Or Less! :: 02/14/12
With this episode, Marc With a C begins a trilogy of episodes featuring nothing but music from vinyl records. And, in order to work us all into it slowly, Marc is being a total size queen by starting small… meaning that this entire episode is all about those wacky fetishized donuts: seven inch records.
(And in one case, a five-inch record, too)
But since this format is usually chock full of the biggest oddities in an artists discography, it seemed like a good time to have a guest on the show, someone who was more of an innocent bystander and not as used to the stranger aspects of what lies hidden on these dusty obscurities… Marc asks his wife Nicole for her opinion on each track! Are these tracks really as interesting as Marc thinks that they are, or is this just stuff built for collector scum? Find out!
Oh, and they drink some super cheap wine throughout the episode, which is a Real Congregation first. I mean, c’mon. It’s Valentine’s Day! Plus, this edition’s “Strange Records Of The Week” must be heard to be believed…

Hey Marc, do you have any recommendations for communities for record swaps? I occasionally come across some interesting novelty pieces that I would love to exchange for other novelty pieces (directly coming to mind is a good quality 12″ of Mel Blanc studio run-ins for radio promos that I have no idea how it ended up in my collection. It might have been placed in a Walt Disney’s Haunted Mansion sleeve which contained absolutely zero Haunted Mansion).
I don’t, actually. But, what area do you live in? I could look into it for you. And it wouldn’t be bad for me to learn about some swappage with the novelty set, for sure!
Damn decent of you, sir. I live right at the tip-top of Manhattan. If you don’t have any NYC contacts to dig around here, let me know what you’re looking for.
