The Fake Congregation :: Canned Cherry Surprise :: 4/3/12
You’ve been Cap-napped. I got you tied up in a stadium lavatory. I’ve got soothing balms and jello flavors in various stages of firmness. I’ve got a craft buffet featuring a wide variety of melon-based dishes and you’ve got to watch while I eat ’em all. Don’t worry, I’ve got the perfect soundtrack. My sexy baboon assistant in the sequined dress will put your headphones on. Here’s what’s goin’ down:
You’ve stumbled down a manhole at the avenue of time and space. An endless tunnel of neon and wind-swept hotness we like to call: The Fake Congregation. In this episode I share with you some of my favorite finds from the Orange You Glad and Ultra music festivals, peculiar cuts with interesting back stories, try my hand at a dangerous game of mp3 roulette, and attempt to decipher the enigma of Was (Not Was). Can you dig it?

Just had a stupid thought. Are you actually listening to the songs at the time while recording like an actual radio station or since it is a podcast you fill in the songs during editing?
Not a stupid thought – a fair question. With Fake Congregation I changed setups a couple times. I think in every instance I listened to most of them, but it’s strictly optional since I’ll have already listened to them a ton before committing to putting it into the episodes.
Have you thought up more since this episode about cities having their own consciousness. This pertains to they might be giants finding a city’s rythem
I think about it often. But it’s considerably more metaphysical than what TMBG or Byrne were considering. It’s a complex idea that’ll make it’s way into a project some day.
I wrote a half finished story, that won’t be finished, about a city consciousness and it chooses one person. To hold the key to the city that does something.
Awww memories
Ok what was that uncomfortable brother/sister thing in the last 2 minutes
