    Obviously the best and only choice is Luc Besson. He has proven it by directing the best Science Fiction movie ever made,The Fifth Element. Although if you feel someone is better (doubtful) let me know and why!

    Although I doubt he would do it, I’d love to see a Star Wars by Paul Thomas Anderson.

    Also Ron Howard or Wolfgang Petersen.

    I think it’s obvious. There is only one man who would treat this movie with the maturity and intelligence that it deserves. Uwe Boll is the only choice.

    I’m torn. Brandon makes a great point, but at the same time, Guillermo del Toro could be good. He’s one of the few people to uses animatronics much anymore (Hellboy 1,2, Pan’s Labyrinth), and I think it’d make for better visuals than the prequels’ constant greenscreen and CGI. Then again, Andrew Stanton and his team did a good job mixing with CGI in John Carter, so I’d take that as well.

    Bah, just got done with the episode. Curse you, Cap! On another note, Brandon, the only way I’d accept Mr. Besson is if Chris Tucker showed up at some point.

    Based off this http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/star-wars-returns-rumor-roundup-221654367.html

    I think I may change my choice to Michael Bay. Yup.

    What about Sam Raimi a la Evil Dead 2/Army of Darkness/Spider-Man? That weird camerawork of his plus lightsabers, anyone?

    I want Scott Sanders (Black Dynamite) to make this movie right here:

    @Max

    This is actually the project that comics artist-turned filmmaker Matt Haley teased in our Twin Peaks episode!

    I was wondering what ever happened to that! I thought he was calling it afronauts or something?

    @Max Similar concept, different guy! Afronauts is the still unseen pet project by Chew artist, Rob Guillory.

    Oh, right on. It had been so long since I’d heard anything about that, I actually starting making my own “blacksploitation in space” project that would basically be Black Dynamite kicking ass in a Cowboy Bebop universe:
    Afronauts

    That image right there is the most evolved visual from it, there’s a google doc with some high level story concepts floating around too. Sorry for the thread jack, back to your regularly scheduled Star Wars debate.
