One last thing I’ll say is that the actors thing is NOT to troll the Remake (I already got that out of my system with this game,) but it’s an easter egg for a possible future season. Let’s just say things might just geat a little REAL for the team then. But right now we only have S2 Planned, we might used the easter egg mission for S3 or S4, but now that’s up in the air.

I’m at Wizard World in Philadelphia now. I’ve met Mr. Schoening and he’s at work doing my Vineyard Ghostbusters team images. For the moment however, someone else did a blank cover sketch depicting one of the crossovers we had this session which homages a movie I think is seriously underappreciated right next to Ghostbusters 2:

I’ll post the team images as Dan returns them to me.

Okay, so here’s the first two drawings of the Vineyard Ghostbusters team as drawn by Mr. Schoening. First up is myself, Dr. Brendan Rome:

Next up is Joe Deemer; the heart and soul of the Vineyard Ghostbusters franchise as well as our experimental equipment technician:

Alright, after all the madness, Philadelphia Comic Con is done! Now we have the last image from my team members. A huge thank you once again to Dan Schoening for making this all possible. Rounding out his images is the self-proclaimed Pop Culture Queen and incredible awesome Natalie Denver:

    Natalie Denver

I actually realized funny enough that in this image, Natalie kinda looks like a younger Janine with a ponytail as she appeared in the first film. Coincidence? YOU MAKE THE CALL!

Anyways, that’s all for now. Might do a series of short stories about the team before I talk about their contuing adventures so nobody gets bored (and to keep my mind off…certain…things…(Cue Kill Bill Theme).

    Till next time.

@rgbbr These are awesome, Brendan! Color me jealous.

On an unrelated note, the Fredericksburg Area Ghostbusters are still kicking. We’ve had three sessions, each one better than the last. We haven’t had any crazy crossovers yet, but we did encounter our very first pocket dimension and a family of 19th century farmer ghosts (7 if you count the horse) that were plowing a parking lot and road in the middle of Central Park. Early in our investigation, a really poorly thrown slime grenade by yours truly led to me covered head to toe in positively charged slime. The ghosts, yes, the ghosts, recoiling in horror of me (who can blame them? Strange woman wearing a jumpsuit, proton back, and covered from head to toe in what looks like snot) The ghosts were communicative so our medic, Jayda, stepped in and charmed the hell out of them so they didn’t shoot me. Meanwhile our other companions, John and Brian located the source of this intersection of worlds and times, the farmer’s plow. A poorly executed heist later fueled by numerous ghost dice had us take ghost horse and plow back to our dimension, set the poor farmers’ house on fire, and then had to destroy the plow to close the dimension.

The whole situation led to a surcharge on my prices document. “Pocket Dimensions.” It’s also made me realize being a Ghostbuster is sometimes less than glamorous.

@rgbbr Jeeeeeeeze these are spectacular. Schoening is a prince.

@12thknight Glad you guys are still kicking ass and taking names, albeit unglamorously.

Nice to see you’re kicking ass as well. That being said, you’re right. Being a Ghostbusters is NOT glamorous. But if you think this was bad, wait till you see what happens in our next sessions starting with our Christmas-themed episode.

Thanks, Cap! He was very nice and we had a great chat so I think I made a great impression on him. A very nice guy and he liked how I did that final session with Hades taking the in-universe crossover route like what you guys did with Beetlejuice and David Lo-Pan.

    Speaking of which, I almost forgot one of my best insults to Hades after I shot his nuts off which I talked to him about;

    “Well, there go your Argonauts.”

He also was very intrigued when I pointed out the number of Ghostbuster actors involved with the Disney film. In case you missed it, I actually realized that Max Von Sydow did the Swedish Dub voice for Zeus, Frank Welker provided the voice of Pegasus, and most notably, Paddi Edwards (AKA the dubbing voice for Gozer) did the voice of the fate Atropos, the one who could tell the future.

Anyways, looking forward to the next session. Let me know how things go with you guys and I look forward to seeing your next session as well.

    Take care until then!

Okay, so I have a better idea about what my schedule is going to be for my RP Sessions.

First off, next session will be sometime next year involving a film that debuted in December last year that I felt was quite sadly underrated; KRAMPUS. For those not aware, Krampus is a real-life spirit from German Folklore; described as “the shadow of Saint Nicholas,” Krampus is basically the evil mirror version of Santa. His M.O. is usually that whenever someone looses their Christmas spirit, or is naughty, Krampus will literally drag them and their family to hell. If you haven’t seen the film, I recommend you do so now. It’s directed by Michael Doughtey (of Trick ‘r’ Treat Fame, as well as the writer of X-Men 2 and Superman Returns,) and without giving too much away, this movie is basically what would happen if Clark Griswold and Cousin Eddie had to fight the Evil Dead during the events of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. So basically without giving away too much of what goes on here, this is going to be more of a Natalie tale, and involves another crossover which I won’t give too much away.

After that is my long-planned Vineyard Ghostbusters Road Trip storyline. If anyone who has a game and their own franchise wants to be part of it, let me know in a PM. It’s still in early planning stages, and I don’t know if I’ll get to it next year, but I’ll try to do it the year after. Essentially the plot involves the team taking a trip around America on request of an old colleague of my character, and to get more research done.

Now for the big news; while I’m still not looking forward to the 2016 reboot (and not on account of being sexist, but because I’m not at all convinced by it. If you want to see it, that’s fine, but for me personally, it has done nothing to make me laugh once) but I am looking forward to IDW’s Ghostbusters: International #7. Why? Because I’m happy to officially announce that I’m making an actual cameo in this issue! I’m not making this up!

How did it happen? Well, when I spoke to Dan Schoening in Philadelphia, I mentioned how my Mother was Irish and if there was any Irish cameos I could fill in. While he admitted that he had already drawn most of the characters by that point, he did say that I could cameo in the background which I accepted. Now I don’t know where or when I’ll show up, but when the issue comes out, I will try to look through the book and find it. Unless someone finds it here first. Basically it’s the drawing Mr. Schoening drew of me that I currently use as my profile pic. Anyways, that’s the update for today. Hope you all have a great day and happy Post-4th of July!

PS: I am thinking about posting little fanfic one-shots here as well to fill the time. Let me know if you’d be into this idea.

Congrats on the cameo! That’s really cool!

As far as fanfic one-shots, this is a Vineyard Ghostbusters thread, so feel free to continue to share whatever stories about them you like. 😎

Hi everyone! Sorry I tried to post this yesterday, but it wouldn’t let me for some reason. Anyways, in honor of the new episode of GBR yesterday, I shared a link on Twitter to a preview of Ghostbusters International #7 that came out last Wednesday. Why?

    http://twitter.com/RomeBrendan/status/763451862712455168/photo/1

    Because I can. 🙂

Also, I’m going to give an update about our group’s RP Schedule. Our GM had ideas for the live show he wanted to try out, so we’re still going to do it, but it might not be the Christmas Themed story I had planned. Rest assured we will do a live session, but depending on what happens, we might play the game earlier in December, or I might just adapt it for a story here on the forums. Rest assured, we’re still alive, but what we do for the live show is up in the air.

Thanks! Schoening is a great guy, if you talk to him on Twitter, I’m sure he’d find a way to have you guys cameo as well. Also, I do have plans to do my own explanation in the GBR Universe to tie-in the portrait of me in Ireland. I’m working on it right now, trying to figure out the best way to do so. In the meantime, here’s a little promo for the Vineyard Ghostbusters Christmas Special Story. Whether or not it appears in fanfic form or RPG form, we’ll see, but here’s a little teaser.

When people lose their faith in Christmas…
(Images are seen of a howling blizzard snowstorm ravaging the Vineyard.)
When a demon is set free on an island…
(Snippets of people screaming as demonic elves, human-sized evil gingerbread men, and devilish toys are seen attacking people and police officers.)
    When Krampus comes to town…
(A shot of Krampus as he stares at victims tied to trees as a portal to hell opens up beneath them. As Krampus leans in towards a screaming woman, we hear a familiar siren wail. We then see a Custom 2015 Jeep Explorer pull up and four figures exit. They don’t run, but rather march with the confidence and purpose of soldiers. They suddenly activate some kind of device on their backs as the familiar tune kicks in. Krampus opens a portal to hell between him and the newcomers and the light from the flames beneath reveal the figures to be Dr. Brendan Rome, Natalie Denver, Sally Aso, and Joe Deemer. They each unhook their neutrona wands as Natalie says one thing to Krampus.)
    Natalie: Yippee-ki-yay, mother**ker.
(With that, Krampus’s toys lunge at them as the Vineyard Ghostbusters fire their proton packs. The screen cuts to black until we see the Vineyard Ghostbusters Logo with the words ‘The Vineyard Ghostbusters: Krampus Carol’ underneath. Then the words ‘Coming This Lifetime (Preferably Christmas)’ appear underneath.
