ParticipantI just made an 11-th hour donation towards Champions, a superhero system that we almost played back in college, but never did. I don’t remember much about the system, except that you gained perks by giving yourself weaknesses. I don’t know how easy or difficult it is to obtain the sourcebook, but since it’s the 30th of the month and other games have hundreds of dollars pledged, I don’t think that’ll be an issue.
I remember planning out a character for our never-to-be Champions game. It was to be set in the Marvel universe; my guy, Plus, was a Phalanx construct with a long backstory to explain his massive number of strength and weaknesses. So much of him was based in the X-Men crappola of the mid-90s, which, at the time, I had no idea was crappola. All I really remember was that Plus was partially created from DNA of Mr. Sinister, and therefore very susceptible to attacks from the Summers family.

KeymasterTHE OLD ONES HAVE TRIUMPHED! The next RPG we play will be Call of Cthulhu!
Infinite and unknowable thanks to all the fans who made this a record-breaking drive. It is by your hands and your will that we unleash Nerdageddon upon unsuspecting earholes. Our love is many-tentacled.
To all the other RPGs… never fear, your day will come. And this is a victory we can all share in.

ParticipantI thought it would come down to Dresden files and Firefly (and maybe swrpg), but I never expected people to go that overwhelmingly for the Call of Cthulhu. That game is older than most of the Nerdy Show cast and fans. (Also my old GM’s railroad plots would instantly halt forever if we couldn’t stumble on some obscure ‘trigger’ on several occasions so I’m biased.)
I’m starting to wonder if a quick browsing through the fans photographs would reveal hints of the ol’ Innsmouth look.

ParticipantHey guess what.
So anyway, here’s the question: Will it be Firefly or Dresden Files? If previous RPG 1-Shots are of any indication, there is going to be considerable push for both. Personally, I’m not at all sure as to which one I would prefer.
Guess who, it's Kaosubaloo!

ParticipantI am always for Dresden files. The game designer part of me absolutely loves the system. I also am a big fan of the books. I am as much of a browncoat as anyone else but the overall world doesn’t speak to me with the same potential that Dresden files does. Even pure mortals are pretty bad ass in their own way.

KeymasterIt’s true, after the past couple drives, there’s good reason to speculate what the outcome could be by process of elimination. Buuuuut that’s why we want to mix it up by showcasing the kinds of things we’d do in some of the other systems. You can back a system you’re a fan of, you can back a Nerdy Show host you’re a fan of, or you can back a character you’re a fan of. Every pick is a winner, and each has challenges. It’s all about picking the Nerdy Show experience you want to see.
No matter what, we’ll make the best show we can and will have good goddamn time doing it.
