ParticipantJust realized today that iTunes doesn’t seem to be updating the podcast list. The last ep. I’ve got is Flame-on #50 Over the Hill.
I’ve tried to ‘update podcast’ and ‘show all available episodes’, but nothing new is showing up on the list. Just wanted to know if things are getting updated on your end before I get too wound up.
I can still manually d/l new episodes off the website, but ‘the iTunes’ is so convenient.Sailin' about port to port, Smokin' 'em out fort by fort,

BlockedI’ve been a little busy recently, but I think some rebranding happened while I was out. The ITunes seems to be redirecting to “The Nerdyshow Network” now. I don’t use iTunes, so could you confirm if this is true?

KeymasterHey all! Yup -t his is a big problem that @Jon and I have been trying to fix the past couple weeks. The problem is… iTunes takes ages to update any major changes. So it’s hard to know if anything we’ve done has/will fix/ed the issue.
The short version:
Something inexplicably broke with our podcasting plugin and the Network feed started only showing old old old episodes of Nerdy Show. An aspect of our categorical posting was somehow disabled and we couldn’t revert it. Since everything was already fucked, we started experimenting with finally initiating separate feeds for the shows. We don’t have all of them up yet, but we will soon. The all-in one Network feed everyone has been using on iTunes WILL be back somehow. It’s just taking iTunes ages to update and we’re not sure if we’ve done it right.March 6, 2014 at 4:19 pm #37524Max
ParticipantSo if you go to the iTunes store and search for Nerdy Show, you get most of the individual feeds. The core feed is there, D&D is there, Epic Piecast is there, Flame On is there, Pokeballs is there, Atomic Robo N&B is there, and that’s it. Real Congregation, Ghostbusters, ANMBE, Derpy Show, Wicked Anime, and the Hex Grid don’t show up (at least under that search; I can confirm The Real Congregation doesn’t show up though). You can subscribe to the ones that exist. The none of the split-out programs come down with the core feed subscription, you have to subscribe to them individually.

KeymasterYeah – for now. The Network wide feed, the one with 50-something ratings, that shows Nerdy Show 122 as the most recent episode… that one will update as the The Nerdy Show Network Feed.
Where’d you find Piecast? We don’t have a feed up for it yet. But every show – very soon.

ParticipantSo the network-wide feed will or will not have all of the different podcasts released on it? In spite of not listening to every show, I still prefer having all the podcasts come to one feed.

ParticipantAlright. Thanks for the update. I’m glad to know the problem isn’t on my end (I guess).
Keep at it guys, and hopefully iTunes speeds up their update.

ParticipantI take it back, Pie Cast wasn’t there. I must have seen it on the homepage and gotten confused.

Keymaster@frozentreasure The Network feed WILL have all the different shows. It will be the same one-stop-shop it’s always been for anything and everything we put out.

Keymaster@frozentreasure Actually, that’s the new feed for just Nerdy Show. The old Network-feed got warped into this: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/nerdy-show-nerdy-show/id334982196?mt=2 As far as I know, that’s still the page to watch for all the Network content, once we figure out how to un-break it.

ParticipantHuh; that seems kinda weird for the names. If I was confident that it would work, I would suggest removing all Nerdy Show feeds from iTunes, waiting for a few days, then re-submitting them to iTunes and seeing if they all catch up. Unfortunately, I’m not confident that that’ll do it.

KeymasterWe’re fully operational! The Network is back in action and all the shows are up except Real Con (which hopefully will be up on Monday, and if not maybe we’ve got a problem there) I’ll be posting more shortly, but if you’d like to get a jump on things – please rate and review the new show feeds!
(And we could use some more current reviews for the Network as well, there’s a lot of grumps fro the early years who were annoyed by the music breaks still pooping up our reviews.)
PS – Hex Grid exists under the Nerdy Show feed now. I plan on adding unique feeds for Book Club and Comic Show in the near future too – State of the Empire already has one.
