ParticipantSo, without even properly checking with Nerdy Show if it’s acceptable donation I’ve pledged 50 of your capitalist american dollars for Star Wreck RPG. (Note the download for free button.)
The game is in essence Star Trek parody, if the federation was composed utter cowards and fools. All ST TOS/TNG knowledge should pretty much apply with the exception that the characters are rather inefficient and continue to become more so as they level up, raising statistics such as clumsiness, obliviousness and stupidity, something they counter by gaining special abilities along the way such as the Vulgar Butt Pinch (clearly an original concept with no relation to any existing science fiction pinches).
The game DOES have some changes that ST fans would have to adjust to though, phasers are twinklers now, photon torpedoes are light balls (I think they always were), impulse engines are shove engines and so forth. The game characters are typically original creations such as Captain Dickhard of the CPP Entryprice, the player characters typically hold officer positions in a starship such as the Captain, Chief Engineer, Navigator or the like and character classes such as Incompetent Idiot (Kirk), Psychotic Loud-Mouth (Worf), Frustrated Grouch (McCoy), or Annoying Nerd (Data).
The game is based on finnish indie movie series of the same name, but there really is no need to have anything to do with that as the game is really a Star Trek parody at heart.

ParticipantStar Wreck RPG’s at 50$ vs. 61$ for Dresden Files.
Now is the time to do your part for the federation!

ParticipantI have tripped over money in the corridors of Engineering on a starship. Take it. I’d waste it on something constructive.
Sailin' about port to port, Smokin' 'em out fort by fort,
Stealin' their loot ton by ton, Takin' their ships one by one.September 4, 2013 at 12:53 am #34131M
ParticipantYou’re a true hero of the Federation, son. I’ve never been happier to see someone fail their education badly enough to be stuck with a starship assignment.

ParticipantIt’s like getting married. You commit to a famous respected lady and immediately this new woman shows up. She may not be all prim and proper, in fact she’s quite trashy, but she’s got ship-to-ship space combat and redshirt-based hitpoint mechanics.

ModeratorYou had me at ship-to-ship combat.
I was going to bid on Shadowrun, but this sounds like way too much fun, not to mention it’s a setting that the Nerdy Show crew hasn’t explored yet.Well that and post apocalyptic hellscape.

KeymasterIf I find any spare monies lying around this month I’ll throw it at this with a mass accelerator.
