It was brought up to make state of the empire a regular scheduled show.

as much as I love to talk star wars this is a show to come out when there is actually something to tell, mayhaps when we are closer to episode 7 make it regular but for now every 6 months is good for me.
For Willow watch if for nothing else, not enough content the fill the Willow watch quote.

But what do the rest of you have to say

I think the whole point about Willow Watch is that it is hilarious trying to scrounge up anything about Willow. I don’t think there is anybody involved who seriously expects more Willow content, and let’s be honest, that body has been cold for decades now. Although I have seen a rash of sequel announcements for movies with far less fan interest than that lately (Joe Dirt, a Say Anything tv series, the list goes on). I think these thin episodes are just as fun as the ones with tons of news, because they tend to bring up the stuff that doesn’t get picked up by the mainstream news outlets that you probably already know about. One piece of news that didn’t get mentioned was that Disney quietly cancelled Tiny Death Star and that other card-battler game the other day, so their digital game strategy remains baffling.

I will say though that bringing up the Ghostbusters stuff was all well and good, but you may as well have thrown in the GB3 rumor and news stuff that’s come out lately. Particularly Ernie Hudson saying that doing an all-female cast was dumb and it shouldn’t be called Ghostbusters, and for that matter the announcement that it would be an all-female cast from the Bridesmaids folks.

Cap! Great show, I love listening to you guys and your Star Wars insights. Speaking of, I would love to hear you guys weigh in on a conversation my brother-in-law and I were having about Mace Windu’s death. We came to the conclusion: if you throw a Jedi out of the window, if you give him enough free fall… they’re going to save their own lives.

Historically, we have seen Anikan and Luke fall from VERY high distances, in Luke’s case, he also lost his hand before the drop and Anikan almost didn’t even care that he was jumping out into nothingness… like he knew that Obi-Wan would just catch him before he hit bottom.

Neither of these guys were Jedi Masters as the time of their fall like Mace was. I figure Mace could have forced pulled/pushed anything to soften his landing or caught himself in the air. What do you guys think?

For me, I figure there’s no better way to get the Empire off your back. If they’re tracking Jedi, being assumed dead isn’t a bad way not to get chased.

True tho, Boba Fett would never give up chase, I love that someone else made a fan art of his survival and eventual meetup with the famous bounty hunter.

    Keep up the great work!

@pseery80 If we did SotE on a regular schedule it would be conditional. Like maybe every other month an maybe monthly as the films approach. The boon to more frequent shows would be more fun. We like sharing the news and being insightful, but after we wait a long time it’s hard to not just be a newsdump. If we had less to cover at a time we’d be able to make up more crazy theories.

@maxacree Woah! Had no idea Tiny Death Star was cancelled – what the heck is going on over there?! As for Ghostbusters – it was purely a means to an end. You’re right – we totally could’ve done a solid GB remake discussion and man… I hadn’t heard about that Ernie Hudson interview… that’s lame. I mean – I’m not for a reboot either but NOT CLASSY man. Anyhow, we felt like we needed to do an SotE and we needed to discuss the debut of the Ghostbusters Hub so… that’s what happened. We’ll likely tackle the GB discussion solo in the future.

@rankine-xero I am right there with you, dude. Unless that Sith lightning was just too much for Windu to cope with he’s alive – NO DOUBT. If the Obi-Wan movies are a real thing there’s no question in my mind that Windu will return (and die on-screen for real this time). @seven – thoughts? Think you could find that fan art you mentioned?

Hey, i am more than happy to talk star wars all day. My feelings on the SotE comes from my past problems with constant updates and speculations involving long running/awaiting projects and being burned by the unveiling. I.E. Lost final season with no real questions answered, Wheel of time Book series that was good but all the speculation and prophetic rumors it kept me looking for things that weren’t there or that wasn’t really a thing, and let’s not forget episodes 1-3 of Star Wars and how disappointed i was with everything i saw.
The point i am trying to get to, though i dont think i did a good job getting to it, is too much talk can lead to too much expectations. When i hear you guys going on about things that can happen or that would be a good idea, makes me hopeful for something that just wont happen cause we have no control over what we want to see but what they feel that we want to see.

A Question of the GB franchises: “Would you Doug allow more than one Franchise per city to be considered cannon, like say in Orlando? I know this is a stupid question but if i were to start another Orlando Franchise i wouldn’t want to overload that happenings of an area that your team has been dealing with.”
    (Did that question make sense?)

As for Willow Watch, if Nerdy Show can’t find anything but are willing to share more back story from that wonderful book of theirs then i am fine with it, that can be my Willow Watch.

Question for anyone who has an opinion of this:
What do you feel if someone recreated Episode 1-3 a more interesting and well crafted story and released it to the public not receiving a dime for it? Would you feel like it is disrespectful of what has come already, like spitting in the eye of the creator of Star Wars? Would it be something that will do the current cannon harm? Anything, this thought has been growing like a tumor in my head and i need to get rid of it

I’d be on board with someone recreating episode 1-3 but good. I think a lot of people would like to see it and I don’t think it would do the current cannon any harm (episode 1-3 already did that damage themselves; R2 can fly?). How episode 1-3 could have been made better has been a hot topic with fans since The Phantom Menace. It would be interesting to see some of those ideas for improvements made real.

Episodes 1-3 were remade as a good movie by X-Men: First Class. The Xavier/Magneto journey WAS the Obi-Wan/Anakin journey told so much more effectively than the prequels told it.

For a moment I thought you were about to say the motivation behind the time travel in X-men Days of Future Past were really Xavier and Magneto attempts to stop episode 1-3 from being made in the past.

Joking aside; you are totally right Max. They tell the friendship turning to betrayal story much better.

I heard that the time travel in Future Past was so they could un-make X3, but since I haven’t seen it yet, I can’t really comment for sure.

Maybe we should come up with some sort of #BringBackWillow hashtag we can start using to try and turn the tide on Willow news? With all these stupid sequels coming out (a CW series based on the Illusionist film? seriously?) there HAS to be some money somewhere that can get allocated to it.

This link should be discussed on the next Willow Watch.

And I am all about supporting a letter campaign to get Warrick Davis on SoTE.
