I haven’t been reading any of the comics, I’ve just seen it come across my social media feed like crazy with a bunch of click-bait headlines. I’m sure it’ll turn out to be a non-event, or she’ll be just like Gambit’s wife in that one Jim Lee X-Men book that got introduced and killed in the same issue. It would be really funny if they pull some Galaxy Far-Far-Away cultural comedy though, like “on her planet, drinking out of the same cup means you’re married!” or something.July 6, 2015 at 1:09 pm #48215
I just got around to catching up on the comics. I think Ms. Solo is interesting, but I don’t think she will be a persistent character.
I think the issues keep getting better for all the comics except Princess Leia. Princess Leia doesnt seem like the same character at all in her comic. She just has these seemingly random outbursts. Anybody else bothered by the Princess Leia comics?July 6, 2015 at 2:02 pm #48221
@bukunimus Totally. I kept hoping the book would get better and it just… didn’t. I can’t believe that Mark Waid wrote Leia. It felt so watered down and its early over-emphasis of a gal-pal dynamic felt super-forced. Added a degree of needless gender separation between the the books.
In other news Kanan is, surprisingly, the sharpest, best-written title so far.July 6, 2015 at 2:44 pm #48222
I was watching the Formula 1 Silverstone Grand Prix this weekend, and the celebrity spotting this week was none other than George Lucas. turns out he has been a lifelong fan of F1, which totally explains American Graffiti and Pod Racing. He looks like he’s slimmed down a bit recently, I think offloading all the nerd-hate has done his health some good. In other news, this was easily the most exciting F1 race of the season, so if anybody cares about that I’d recommend it.July 7, 2015 at 9:26 am #48231
Donnie Yen (Ip Man, Hero) is being rumored to have been picked up as a Jedi for episode VIII and Rogue One, though it is unclear how reliable the information is. Some articles are speculating that Jet Li asked for too much money, but that would have been pretty awesome if they’d gotten him to do it.

I saw that article and was intrigued. What if its true they picked him up for Star Wars but not for epVIII or Rogue One? A Kung Fu Star Wars action film would be right up my alley.
Also, Kannan has to be my favorite comic so far, although I haven’t picked up Lando yet. When it stops on a cliffhanger, it feels like it matters more so then the others.July 7, 2015 at 8:18 pm #48237
The Lego movie directors are doing a Young Han Solo movie: http://www.starwars.com/news/christopher-miller-and-phil-lord-to-helm-han-solo-anthology-film?linkId=15374279July 7, 2015 at 8:38 pm #48238
Just read Lando and it’s awesome.
This has been a busy day for SotE, we’ve been following all these stories. It’ll be a while ’til we can get out a new episode due to manic summer schedules but… we have very strong feelings about this.
Here’s mine in brief: as awesome as the creative team is – the very idea that they’re for real making a young Han film disturbs me.July 8, 2015 at 9:57 am #48254
Yeah, I agree @Cap. They’re going to really have to do something special with that movie to make it watchable. Is there a Han Solo movie even worth watching? How about a found footage movie that is basically a GoPro attached to the carbonite slab, so that the only things you see are the slab in the Slave I and anything that may have gone on along the way to Jabba’s, then everything that happens in Jabba’s palace in view of the slab leading up to the beginning of Jedi? I feel like you could make an interesting movie out of that.July 9, 2015 at 12:21 pm #48278
Yes, a Han Solo film that is secretly a Boba Fett film!July 12, 2015 at 2:32 am #48379
We gleaned some extra info about sequences from the film based on Hasbro’s toy announcements!

I dig that paint scheme for the new X-Wing Fighter. Makes sense to me. Colors that compliment each other very well. Guess he’s going for a “tiger” motif? Maybe a “Rogue Squadron” custom paint scheme?

Benicio Del Toro romuroed to be the villain in Episode VIII. What if Disney is finally rolling Star Wars into the MCU, and he is going to just show up as The Collector?
