I was just re-listening to the last few D&D episodes, and I laugh so hard any time Shovel Guy talks. Ruel struck gold when he made that character (I imagine he dug that gold out of the ground with a shovel). As long as they are sailing Jack’s/Lefty’s boat I hope he continues to be in the episodes, although most likely as just continuing as a bit part. I laugh nearly as much at Shovel Guy as I do at Galdap, although it would be really hard to beat that cunning ancient wizard.

Black Pepper Jack on the other hand seems to be kind of an awkward character. He’s voiced by Cap right? I’m not sure why, but I would guess that it’s kind of hard to play multiple characters with different motivations. It would be cool to see Jack be more like his original role as Barty’s(Or maybe the whole party’s) nemesis. Jack seems to have been emasculated by his new subservient role. I would love to see him do something crazy to fuck with the party. Cap voices him but could perhaps convey his motivations and plans to Ruel and he could make some plans for Jack’s revenge?

I dunno, just sharing some thoughts on the newer characters. On a random side note, a couple of years ago I attended Schaffer the Darklord’s CD release/birthday party and posted a picture of me meeting him and MC Frontalot, but I forgot to mention I also met Lefty Lucy that night. We talked for a minute or two about how her character always kicks so much ass. She has definitely continued to be a bad ass. If I ever have a reason to visit Orlando, I’ll have to make an attempt to meet some other cast members. Anyway, I look forward to the next episode. I’ll make good on my promise to do Itunes reviews soon. Keep up the good work guys.

Anyone else have comments on these or any other characters?

Yaaaay! Shovel guy! He’s not just a fan favorite, he’s a cast favorite too.

I never ever ever meant to PLAY Jack. I only ever wanted to do his voice. But as they always do with our best laid plans, they spiraled out of control and Ruel put forth that it would help if I played him as well. Not that I don’t love a challenge, but it’s a bit problematic. And really it would be fine if it weren’t for him being cut down a peg as soon as he was truly introduced to the plot. Colin and I assumed there would be a big confrontation – we even had score demoed in preparation for the inevitable duel between he and Barty, but alas. The good news is that the character is just as frustrated by this as you are, and it’s only a matter of time before he makes a move.

    My god!
    Shovel Guy!

His dialog, his accent, his name. Everything about him is so perfect.

He is definitely a brilliant creature, the quirky oddball characters are always my (and fan) favorites. I had a similar reaction to BPJ, but unfortunately unlike Galdap he sort of fizzled out from his orginal Barty-Crushing greatness. Half of me wants Shovel Guy as a series regular, the other half never wants to touch such a flawless existence.
