ParticipantDid I hear correctly that @Cap is going to SDCC again? If so, I’d like to request somebody get the low down on the new Road Warrior movie. Allegedly they will have a presence there this year.

KeymasterYou did! Aaron and I will be there.
If there’s any downlow I can get on the new Road Warrior, I surely will – though, being that it’s Comic Con, you’re more likely to hear about what’s happening down there than I am being there. It’s madness.
Anyone coming? We can stage a meet-up!

ParticipantI won’t be there this year, it was a ton of fun that year I did go though.

ParticipantNever been to SDCC but hearing about it and going to other Cons I imagine that it is just choas. It is so big and popular that you would have to be a celeb to get anything done.
Dragon con is 4 city blocks of madness. Is SDCC the same.July 15, 2014 at 8:39 am #40106Max
ParticipantSDCC is crazy, and you really have to plan your experience. You can’t just casually show up to it and get in, which is a bummer. That said, you can just stumble across random things that are awesome. For instance I went a couple years ago and randomly stumbled across @Cap, and we ended up in a room listening to a panel about production design in film. I was slotted to do some freelance work for Shifty Look, and so I had dragged Cap to the room that was going to happen. We found ourselves listening to the guy that did set design for the original Planet of the Apes tell the story of how he pitched the Statue of Liberty scene literally on a napkin in a bar, and then how he had to direct the scene because nobody wanted to climb up the rickety set they’d constructed on the beach. It was awesome. Also I happened to kind of just be strolling the floor when Robert Downey Jr. dropped in on a kids’ costume contest for Iron Man and proceeded to officiate in character as Tony Stark, which was pretty funny.

KeymasterSDCC is getting there. Since the convention hall, big as it is, is too small for even big companies to get a showing in there so it’s extended into the gaslamp district. But generally it’s more contained. Though… I’m only going on hearsay – never been to DragonCon.

ParticipantI am getting excited with some of the things I am seeing coming out of Comic-Con this year. One thing of note are the pics for the upcoming Batman/superman: dawn of justice movie showing the main men in costumes also showing Wonder Woman in the best live action wonder woman costume I have ever seen (filtered through photoshop).
Got a feeling that though Ben has been given crap about playing the Dark Knight, it would be poetic justice if he turned out to be the best one.
Anyone got anything they liked out of Comic Con

ParticipantThe Mass Effect panel from SDCC 2014:
Bullet point takeaways:
·During the character presentations they mentioned their razor statement is maximum visual customization
·Not a surprise, but they are working on male and female characters simultaneously
·Exploration is the key to the game
·Mako is back, and they assure us it is not terrible. Also it appears unarmed in the version they showed.
·This game will be in the Frostbite engine, which is something EA seems to be adopting across the board for their games
·There will be new races
·Mike Gamble thinks Mass Effect has always been a cooperative experience, so I guess he must have only played the 3rd game that had multi-player and not the other 2/3 of the series that is a solo effort -
