    This is Tekkit:

    http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/

This is what it looks like in action (with a few self-admitted total newbs at the helm):

Who here has played with Tekkit before? Who wants to give it a try? I would like to poll interest in setting up a Nerdyshow Tekkit Server, either on the current hardware or one run by the community.

So post it here; your thoughts on Tekkit, as it pertains to setting up a server or just share your experiences. GoGoGo!

I was sold the moment I saw pioletalbe airships. Getting the single player version.

Cuddles and I have been messing around in it. It’s pretty awesome. I’ve just been dabbling, but she’s become some sort of Science Wizard.

I’ve been watching youtube videos of it all day. The one you linked though Kao made me remember just how badass some of the Xenogears soundtrack was.

I went with that list partially because it’s the Yogscast (which is pretty popular) and partly because half the people in it really don’t know what they’re doing, so it is probably more representative of the initial experience as compared to the really cool stuff like airships.

Tekkit is a load of fun. I’d be interested, for sure. However, I think it may be a good proposal to set up a nuclear free zone around the spawn area, as the reactors are very easily sabotaged. In fact, you may just want to whitelist the server entirely and take sign-ups from the forums for trusted members. The entirety of your creation can asplode just because someone snatched all of your cooling rods, and this can easily destroy the work of all your neighbors as well. I’ve seen reactors blow the land out down to bedrock if mishandled. Precautions must be taken! We must not wipe from the face of the world the last remaining Lesser Spotted Derpy Pig (‘least til I get to eat it).

Yeah, tekkit is really fun, I have played it for some time now, and almost lost full interest in 1.3 Minecraft. Just, Tekkit PvP is no fun seeing you can easily get armor which makes you invincible(neon).

I will admit, I’ve been having fun with Tekkit this past day, but all I’ve really been doing is trying to make a nuclear reactor that puts out a good amount of power and doesn’t detonate. Harder than it seems. And very scary when the supply of ice stops…

Despite what my username says, I am certifiably flawless.

Seriously. I’ve spent a A good chunk of the last week just trying to develop first a Quarry and then a somewhat effective (and renewable. and non-explosive) power generation scheme – Also a lot harder then it sounds. The ammount of time I’ve spent just trying to condense the raw materials necessary to set it up has been sort of crazy, to say nothing of the actual assembly (or crafting, since I don’t know the recipes for anything).

Now I’m waiting for my first quarry to finish digging so I can (see if I can) move it and connect it to my Power Grid (and thus most likely drain my power grid). It’s sort of amazing the amount of time I’ve spent just trying to get this basic stuff to work, I can only imagine how it’ll go once I start to figure out what to actually do with all these things. Probably more transmutation and magic stuff; that seems like a fairly logical progression for my learn-tekkit game.

So to reiterate more explicitly the request from the beginning (and also bump this topic): Please say if you would be interested in an Official Nerdyshow Tekkit server. I have not asked Cap about it yet because I feel I should wait to see how vocal a portion of the community would have an interest in it to save us both some time. Right now it’s looking pretty good to me based on the responses I’ve so far gotten
