So I’ve been thinking about bringing this up before, but I wasn’t sure if you guys really needed it.

    Also I’ve been lazy.

But listening to the Chamberband podcast, I come across the part where you mention you need to revisit the whole system before going on.

LET ME HELP YOU WITH THAT

    I present: Pokemon Tabletop UNITED.

    http://s4.zetaboards.com/Pokemon_Tabletop/topic/10038435/23/#new

This is the system I’ve been playing with for a while. (By the way, me getting heavily into pokemon rpging with both systems is your doing, Nerdy Show Crew! Consider this my revenge as you dive back into the craziness that is Pokeballs of Steelix!)

This is a fan-made system (Of the fan-made system I know) but they’ve addressed a lot of the problems and balance issues (Not 100% perfect, but you know)

Also the actual trainers are streamlined a bit. They have stats, like pokemon, and trainable skills vs traditional rpg stats.

There are a ton of differences, but I found this to be a bit easier to deal with.

Also, for the players (And hex, I use one of these while Gming my games):

A Sheet that does all the math for you. As well as looking up stats and moves and such! (Also there’s a pokemon generator here: http://s4.zetaboards.com/Pokemon_Tabletop/topic/8099475/1/ Have not used it myself though.)

Give those a look if you’d like, and I can even give all the characters an upgrade to ptu, if you’d all like. It will be worth the work to get more POKEBALLS OF STEELIX!

Yes, read this signature while I sneak up behind you.

To add to what LichLord suggested, there are a number of online tools that have been created for PTU. Best of all, IMO, is the Random Pokemon Generator:

    http://www.ptu.panda-games.net/
(The site also has some other tools)

I haven’t played PTU, but I found this while lurking the Pokemon Tabletop boards and figured I would share it.

I’d totally forgotten about this thread. @trench88, have you perused these?

A while back when this thread started I looked at it, but that was before we decided to have me be the game master and since then I’d also forgotten about it. The online tools @namesareuseless posted I hadn’t seen anywhere else though and look like they’ll be pretty useful.

Glad I could help, wish I had known about these tools even earlier.

Is this an indication of the next Pokeballs of Steelix is still a long way’s away?

Man, you guys will read into everything, won’t you? lol

I wouldn’t say a long ways away, but I’m not going to make any official statements about a timeline for it’s return either. All I’ll say is that we decided I’d be taking over as game master back in June, and I have been getting stuff done to make sure once Pokeballs comes back it stays on a regular schedule.

Don’t want to mess with that Steelix 😮

Any progress on a possible new episode? Poor Pokeballs of Steelix needs some more love.

Anyways, boing back to the PTU system … along with the Random Pokemon Generator I linked earlier, I was also sent a nice PTU Character Sheet Template when I took place in a PTU game over at the official Pokemon Tabletop forums. Works really well, should do most of the math for you when you’re assigning Attributes, Skill Modifiers, Features and Edges.

This Character Template allows you not only to create a character, but also in the creation of Pokemon under “Starter” or “Pokemon Template”. You literally just type in the name of the Pokemon species, and it will auto-generate said Pokemon species with base stats. Anyways. feel free to create copies of this handy document for the group 🙂

EDIT: Also, I believe this webpage is just a wiki-style version of the PTU rules. Unsure how up-to-date it is.
If I find any other useful online tools for the PTU system, I will definitely post them here.
