I’m really bummed that Del Toro isn’t directing. He and Beacham’s world was so detailed and lived in. I find it hard to believe that a second-hand script and a guy with no feature directing experience can pull off anything better than an impression of what we had. I hope they prove me wrong, but those creators WERE Pacific Rim to me and now we don’t have either.

I just don’t see why Beacham can’t write the damn movie. He’s writing the comic series. Why relegate the creator of the franchise to just one corner?

@mjolnir I don’t think it worked out the way anybody expected, but the reason that he dipped of the project was that he was working on a bunch of other stuff including him being show runner on a TV series.

Yeah. I remember him mentioning that in his interview. But wasn’t that show supposed to come out by now? Kind of seems like that show has been in production hell, for forever. And apparently the comic series is on hiatus of some kind as the series hasn’t come out since December. And the first issue had come out the previous month. The series is only supposed to be 4 issues. Previews has it listed that issue 3 came out 1/6/2016, and 4 comes out 3/23/2016. I never got my issue 3, we’ll have to see about issue 4 when the day comes. But I’ll definitely ask my LCS manager if 3 actually did come out, when I go in this week.
