InactiveI think detailing a hellmouth style city would be a lot of fun, You would have to home brew a bunch, since the amount and severity of cases would be way more than a normal buster team would be prepared for I think

Participant@Cap Thanks for the info. You’ve already shipped to The Netherlands? There are more ghostbusters here. Where? :p
@Doug That’s funny to hear they already had the option of the ghost beacon. On the subject of cannon, I’m just curious; what do you think of the way the IDW comics include the cartoons (mainly extreme ghostbusters) as cannon but in a slightly altered so they fit better? For example; Kylie and Eduardo have both been included but their introductions (and in some ways their function and characters) are very different. Even the extreme ghostbusters version of Egon made an appearance (visually at least, he had a different name since Janine was dating just to make the real Egon jealous). An accident prone Englishman living in the Netherlands: www.invadingholland.com

Participant@Matasm Now I’m imagining a bunch of varied Ectos parked on the outskirts of a small SouthWestern town, stopped by a giant spectral forcefield surrounding the unfortunate burg. Inside the field, the sky is thick with ghosts.

Keymaster@citizen-stu Hopefully I’m not violating anyone’s trust in saying where, but a starter kit went to Oosterhout.
I have an opinion about the IDW/ Xtreme thing! It was really cool! Extreme was far from perfect but it had some fun ideas. Borrowing from them passively and making them work for true cannon was a great move.

@Doug That’s funny to hear they already had the option of the ghost beacon. Even the extreme Ghostbusters version of Egon made an appearance (visually at least, he had a different name since Janine was dating just to make the real Egon jealous).I don’t think the comic team really concerned itself with EGB very much, beyond the visual references to items and gear. The roles they gave to Kylie and Eduardo could really have been filled by anyone. Kylie in the show was 18, reckless, curious, and deeply troubled. Kylie in the comic book is in her early 20s. Sure she has an interest in the occult, but there’s nothing morbid about it. She likes her job, she likes her boss, and she likes her life. Of course she’s not the same character.
And Eduardo showed up twice and had maybe a total of six or seven lines. He was just a classmate of Kylie’s filling in for her at her cashier’s job when she has to vacate quickly. It’s a glorified cameo, at best.
I could talk about Roger Baugh (Janine’s boyfriend) quite a bit too. She wasn’t just dating him to make Egon jealous, she DID actually like him. Maybe even love him. The only problem with him is that for Janine, there are two dudes on the planet: That One Guy and everybody who is Not That One Guy. Roger was great for a Not That One Guy.

Participant@Cap Don’t worry. I prmise not to stalk them or set the EPA on them. *open google maps* Oh hey, that’s not too far from me… :p
@M.Thunder That was my point as well. There characters were very different but it was nice to see them embrace the cartoon even in just a very small way (even just visually). I’m trying to remember if Alexander was a reference to anything. I seem to remember a fan made Ghostbusters movie were one of the characters wore a hat like Alexander is first seen wearing but maybe I am remembering it wrong. An accident prone Englishman living in the Netherlands: www.invadingholland.com

ParticipantBloody hell, who’s using a name starting with M? Get your own letters, this one is mine.

Inactive@M, I get really annoyed too with how the “presented” name under everyone’s pic is different than the “linked” name used with the @ symbol. It seems like yesterday I finally realized this. (just click the person’s name to see the account name). Hopefully I can figure out how the odes the British Broadcasting Corporation created are being used to format content on the forums.
@12thknight, It would be awesome to GM a franchise, but I have absolutely no time to do more than brain storm anything. My first post on this thread was the morning before my 19 hour shift at work, and I wound up back at work 5 hours later. That being said, if someone want to use my concept for an internet campaign go for it. I’ll post the context for it here now, and later I might throw up some missions/call ins that I brain storm while commuting. Everyone is free to use whatever they think is worth the time.“Campaign Setting”
Franchise: Appalachian Range Ghostbusters
Service description: “We go where others can’t and often won’t. Ghost extraction, extermination and exorcism expertise servings the un-serviceable. City service without the city price!!”Campaign premise- A small group of GB upstarts pool their cash and get a franchise. Taking the weekend warrior approach, they start off traveling to small sites across the east coast (as far as a day’s drive at least) and take care of those wacko call ins with the respect and decency they deserve. (I came to this idea to give room for “guest” GM’s to step in easily and keep the dice rolling for a core group of players)
Mission Ideas
“Logging up the wrong tree”
“UFO – The “O” is for Ofuckitsaghost!”
“A buzzard kicked my ass”
“Matsuyama conundrum”October 15, 2014 at 11:37 pm #42950Cat

We hate it too. HATE it. We’ve got some site changes coming and that’s getting the boot as soon as we mod the forums.

ParticipantAnduin, I am curious about Matsuyama conundrum”. Where would that campaign be set up, still in the states or in south America or Mexico o can’t remember where his empire was.
In regards to the names, how do you post someone’s name on the forums so can be sent an alert?

Inactive@pseery80, click the link under the person’s profile picture. This will open their profile page where you can see some of their activity. Along the top in bold text it’s there account name.
To have a link sent to then while writing a post, write the account name superseded with the @ symbol.
Just look at how I sent you one just now.Until I write out the details and have a decent chance to read a few more rules, all I can say is that Matsuyama is in Japan.
