I mean… we all knew this reboot after Darren Aronofsky left was going to be rough. The movie reads to me like a sci-fi action deal. No risks, just a popcorn flick. There’s nothing particularly wrong with that, it’s just not RoboCop.
Replying my own post, cause this is a sensitive issue for me, a family member (my inner child) was killed by an out of control Robocop sequel and I never got over it.
First of, I know Batman movies are supposed to be oh so dark and gloomy and serious, but why does he need to feel “more pain that he has ever felt in his life” for a FIELD TEST simulation? I know Bruce likes to push himself beyond safe (or sane) limits in his training, but that’s a little much.
Also, a better remake than this: Hobocop, Alex Murphy is rendered homeless by the callous policies of the ruthless corporation that owns the now privatized police force, forcing him to battle both his budding alcoholism and surprisingly mundane criminals. His struggle for his lost masculinity is revisited as his diminishing self esteem causes performance issues.
