What’s this i hear about nerdy fm shutting down?

Well, as per the post on the Nerdy.FM facebook:

Due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances, Nerdy.FM’s final broadcast day will be on Monday, August 21st, 2017.
It’s been an amazing ride and we thank you all for making it possible. Stay tuned for news about special farewell programming and keep the geek party going over at our mothership, The Nerdy Show Network (including the debut of a monthly Nerdy FM podcast!)

There’s more details which I’ve gone into on the Network Patreon and will most likely discuss in an upcoming episode of Nerdy Show. Unfortunately this is a bullet we can’t dodge.

With Nerdy.Fm ending, I’m kind of wondering if it would be possible to make some of the exclusive tracks available somewhere. I can think of a few I’d love to still have available to me, like those Chamber Band exclusives or a few of the Geekeasy live performances.

Actually thinking about it now, I’d love to be able to see a list of the station’s complete catalog so I could make note of what I’m missing from my personal collection. I try to support the artists whenever I can, but I know there have been plenty of times where I forgot to take note of a song or artist I liked figuring I’d do it next time. Now that I know there very soon WON’T be a next time I’m getting antsy to update my playlists.

@delphi Getting a complete list of the Nerdy.FM archives was a project we’d tried to get done throughout our six year existence. Many started, none finished. It was something that especially would’ve helped out when we were offering Nerdy.FM playlists to patrons – something we were counting on happening for that specific reason in fact, but in spite of assurances the task was more daunting (and I’m sure draining) than anyone expected.

The fate of the exclusives will be most likely in the hands of Marc and the artists themselves. Us playing them on the station or on podcasts we have agreements on, but actively distributing a performance is something else entirely and would be needed to be handled on a case-by-case basis. I’d say it’s likely something could be done though. Things like the Chamber Band tracks aren’t exclusive to us, but are indeed very hard to come by – something that would have to be hunted down the old fashioned way.
