    Ok, so I’m super new to the forums. Been listening to Nerdy Show properly since around January after a friend introduced me to the Ghostbusters podcast, and this right here is the reason why I love this network so much. I had no idea what Lightning Dogs was until this last episode aired and I just spent all of today catching up on all your brainstorming. It is so amazing listening to you guys create a world, something I used to do all the time with my friends growing up and what I do alone when I prepare games for my roleplaying groups.

    I’m not even kidding when I say this: if you fellas ever need voice actors in the future, I’m your man. I know that I already support the network financially, but if there’s anything I can do to make this in particular happen, I pledge my fealty here and now.

    Welcome to the pack! AWOOOO!

    God I love your enthusiasm! Welcome.

    I have to agree with the Steven. Listening to you guys brainstorm is so fun because it starts my brain going crazy about alternative scenarios based on your ideas. For instance a Sci-fy series about a space ship that’s returning to earth from humanities first warp drive test to an inhabitable planet. they’ll be returning 20 years later but when they return all signs of live are gone. Now the people on the ship have to decide if they want to go to earth and risk whatever killed all of the humans killing them or just go back to the inhabitable planet again and start civilization anew. If they go to earth it’s a post apocalyptic scenario about scavenging and surviving if they go to the planet you have the option to go the “new eden” route and play around with social boundaries, moral rights and tribal instincts like (us versus them and the need for opposition) and you can even make them arrive back at the planet in time to receive a message that might have been sent from earth before it went to shit.

    Yeah, these episodes are super fun, even though I have to listen to them like 3 times because I always lose track and start thinking of alternative scenarios. I’m really in love with the idea of having Glampire tangentially to blame for the destruction of humanity and hope you keep that in the final draft but I think you guys should also just let some bad guys be bad to be bad, ala Skeletor. I love well written villains probably more then the next guy but sometimes a simple “beat up the bad guy” is just what the doctor ordered. Back to Glampire. I think someone said it in the episode but I’m going to throw it in here if it wasn’t said. He doesn’t strike me as scientist so it wouldn’t be strange if he couldn’t cobble together crystal technology after humanity blows it up. I know I can barely put my phone together with all the parts and a youtube guide to help, and I’m just talking about the battery falling out.

    I can’t wait to hear the pilot. The show Bible is something I would love to read all of the ideas shown in the episodes are a bit muddled currently and getting the final version of the ideas Down would be good.

    about the main characters and accents I think one of the things which need to be in the bible is example dialogue. As well as a relationship map for all the team and the factions.

    I think having the lightning dogs move around is a very important plot confinience especially good if you map out the world.

    I need to reiterate how strongly I want to be a part of this.

    I’ll carry the flag until such a time comes that more content happens. Can’t get enough of this.

    Thank you all for heeding the call of our money throwing and making this a thing.

    What an awesome ride. I want to be there, zero hour, for when Lightning Dogs has its day. And you’ve been digging underground on more worldbuilding for some time since this! It was going to have to come to that eventually because there’s just so much to do, but thank you for keeping it on tape for later. I’m sure you’ve considered them as Patreon options, and I’m just throwing that bone out.

    Okay, so this was just a one-liner and I shouldn’t take this out of context but I’m gonna chase it down anyway. Why would Pierre be the goofball? I mean sure he is gonna have damn good lines but I don’t really see him in that light. Is it because of his powers and it leads to a Flash comparison? I would say if Dingo and Angela share the Batman and Superman dynamic, then Pierre is your Green Lantern.
    One more choice I could easily see going differently is having Dingo/Angela as the choices for knowing that the Diamond Dogs came through first. Much like you said, it shakes the faith of the rest of team when they find out that their leaders have lied to them, and their loyalty is suspect. Maybe that’s good plot development, but maybe it’s getting a little dark? I would want to build their character enough for the audience to know that Dingo and Angela are not bad dogs before doing the reveal to the team. OR, on a completely different note, Dingo and Angela are not told the true mission and are the face guys of this second mission that is publicly presented. Instead the guys who know are Pierre and Dr. Korso. Korso for no reason other than he should have his paws in as many water bowls as possible, always having a good idea what’s going on. Pierre because it gives him a further split between himself and the rest of the team, and maybe THAT gives him a reason to crack wise and brush questions off.

    Hope I’m not stepping on paws. Until the next LD comes out I too will be loyally waiting.

    @huduvudu It’s very likely that when it comes to voice work, at least initially, we’ll be sourcing from Orlando only so we can do everything in the studio. But if you have some voice work or a portfolio you’d like us to look over (and this goes for anyone) send it to lightningdogs@nerdyshow.com. Recording is still a ways off, so we might not reply for a while!

    @tehmsu
    Calling Pierre a goofball was totally a misspeak. Certainly he’s a more lighthearted character, but “goofball” isn’t it. Hal or Kyle Lanterns are a fair comparison (Poor John is too serious). Maybe we need a Guy analogue in there somewhere though… it’s kinda split between several characters. Or maybe we haven’t met him. I’m really into the idea of what the “friendlies” (frenemies?) of The Wasteland might be like. Interested to explore that.

    With the Diamond Dogs, I hope to hold off on them for a few episodes at least. I want it to play to the trope of “I can’t beat you with my own minions, so I’ve made your equals!” and usually that takes some time before it happens. Though, we can totally hint to it quite a bit before they’re unleashed.

    Killer dog-isms, btw.

    @Cap Despite my personal aspirations, I mean that more in a nurturing and support sense. But thank you.

    This is an ambitious new direction and I want to do everything that I can to help see it through.

    I was glad to hear the reservations about how slavishly devoted to the Bowie mythos this IP was getting. I’ve tried a few times to get on board the Bowie train, and it just never really grabbed me so pretty much all the Bowie stuff is lost on me.

    As far as the Diamond dogs being a secret first team goes, that plot contrivance was done pretty well in the first Predator movie, where you had Dillon playing dumb until the group come across the skinned bodies and Dutch calls him on it. The ol’ “you’d never have agreed to this if I told you, but now that you’re here…” routine.

    @Cap
    , I can’t 100% commit to it, but i would be interested in making some 3D models of the characters you could potentially 3d print if you are serious about action figures.

    I have a question, are you going to give each of the Lighting Dogs their own signature vehicle?

    It's about "SHOW TIME" so drop by http://demonlordm.deviantart.com/

    @thebigbadshadowman That’s the plan, or some spin on it. Things that would really fit in with the action figure tie-in aesthetic we’re going for.

    I want to do all the voices.

    David "Brushfire" Hubbard is a gamer. Webster's defines a gamer as "one whom enthusiastically plays games." Because of this, he is qualified to have opinions on them.

    Doug, I think the words you were looking for were “the Lightning Dogs shouldn’t be stereotypes”, not “shouldn’t have accents”, or else I think you need to refresh yourself on what words mean.

    Because effectively restricting all of the Lightning Dogs to various American dialects immediately cuts my interest in the concept by a significant margin. Trying to justify it in a lore context is weak as well. There’s absolutely nobody who watches Steven Universe and says “wait a second, why is Garnet British? I’m taken right out of the experience now,” because people understand the suspension of disbelief.

    Or is that actually what you meant to say, that America is the default, and that if I were to submit an audition for one of the dogs it would be discarded?

    Regards,

    ~Roy42
