ParticipantThat’s a long and complicated answer. But you’ll hear us go over this exact thing on an upcoming episode. So I don’t want to write a wall of text. But basically, you need two “standard Farfetches” to open a gate. But it might be possible to connect a Farfetch to a natural crystal cluster (if it’s big and dense enough). The gate would most likely open and look like a wall of crystals and rock. A prepped excavation crew would then quickly dig in, and establish a temporary gate, which would allow digging machines to pass through. They, in turn, would establish a permanent gate. In this way, humanity effectively “leapfrogs” across the stars.

ParticipantThe term “glampire” has popped up in another area of popular culture just recently. This time as flavor text in a digital card game by Blizzard.

Are the crystals that make up the diamond dogs different then the one that powers everything

KeymasterAs far as we know, no. Same thing, different purpose. The DDs aren’t big walking batteries, but… well… the fact that they have the same molecular structure as them certainly means that the typical properties of the crystals could be used against them.

KeymasterA distinct possibility. I think the hardest thing about the DDs is that like true automatons – they don’t get winded. So she won’t be able to get close otherwise they’ll just clock her, and THAT is the big challenge.

ParticipantWould Pierre be the Lightning Dog most likely to suffer from claustrophobia? Just curious if his dislike of staying still ever transitions to actual fear.

ParticipantQuestion Time
Given that some of the peoploids have DNA made from many things, is it possible some of them might have dna of creatures that have a lifecycle that have metamorphosis stage and their for could some of them be able to transform with in their lifecycle?
also I was wondering if you got my care package

ParticipantThat sounds more like a suggestion than a question, BigBad 😉
That’s not a complaint or anything, it’s just that I’d suspect the answer would simply be; ‘sure, why not? That sounds cool.’
So, if you don’t mind, how about amending the question to; What kind of a morphing peoploid would you be excited for to add to the wasteland. What was it and what does it become? Is it mostly a physical thing, or more a change in mentality or something to that degree?
There’s so much you could do with a person/creature that cocoons and comes out different, what is it you’d like to explore most?"Wait, he says. Do I look like a waiter?"

Keymaster@tehmsu Yeah – fair bet. We haven’t talked about it, but if anyone has a cramped spaces freakout tendency it’s him.
@thebigbadshadowman Guess you know we got the package by now. I’m only at the comic shop once a week most often, and apparently it came a day or so after I was there last. So totally awesome of you. I’m most excited about Shin Godzilla – I’ve been wanting to see that big time.As for metamorphosis in peoploids – absolutely. Any kind of known biological process is fair game (and unknown processes too) no reason that wouldn’t happen. That said, it’s nothing we’ve talked about, but it’s well in line with something that could happen. As far as DNA goes, saying that the DNA is “made of many things” isn’t wholly inaccurate since who knows what kind of breeding has been going on, but if you look at a, let’s say, spidery-looking dude – he doesn’t have spider DNA in him. I think I’ve used the term “genetic soup” a lot, and I suppose that might give the idea that this DNA “soup” is made from known variables. Really it’s more that if the building blocks of life were once all different kinds of LEGOs with different proprietary interlocking holes so not everything could stack together…. now everything is silly putty.
@kutsu-shita That is a very good series of prompts for creating said metamorphosis peoploid. I don’t know that I’m ready to take that on just this minute, but these are very good questions. I guess to provide an answer of some kind I’d say that if we show something like that it needs to be done in a way that can really express something meaningful, because a change you don’t expect can be scary and maybe the results will be even scarier or surprisingly beautiful. Conversely, if you KNOW there’s a change coming for you and you don’t want it, that’s scary. OR if you don’t know what the result will be, and the people around you don’t know either and it could fundamentally change who you are… that’s also a fascinating situation.August 22, 2017 at 4:15 pm #57908Max
ParticipantI am violently, morally opposed to metamorphosing peopleoids. utterly preposterous. For one thing, what kind of vehicle would such a thing drive around in?
j/k. Sure, why not?
@Cap, you’re essentially describing the Terra-genesis process from Agents of Shield with that “don’t know it’s coming, or what will come out the other side” coccoon process there. I can’t help but also be reminded of that Venture Bros when Dr Venture gets turned into a caterpiller on the night Brock’s license to kill expires. #classicAugust 22, 2017 at 6:20 pm #57923Kutsu Shita
ParticipantHa! Yeah, don’t let me tempt you into putting time into designing a character on the spot, Cap. But it is clear what kind of a take you’ve got on it.
I like the idea of two different worlds of creatures actually being linked through this act of metamorphosis; a caterpillar lives in a different place and eats different stuff from a butterfly, there’s basically no interaction at all, but together they’re one life cycle.
So what if the dogs came across a bunch of nice little creatures that happen to make some kind of excellent medicine or something and will happily share it. Then the LD’s might be like; ‘Well these are cool new friends we’ve made, this really makes our lives easier!’
At some point the elder decides he needs to go off into this particular cave. The dogs wonder what’s in there but no one really has an answer, except that you come out of one cave when you’re young and go into the other once you’re old and otherwise you stay in the meadow or whatever. The dogs find that very weird, but the little guys are all like; ‘Weird? Look who’s talking. What about dogs with superpowers and lasers?’ And the dogs do have to admit they’ve seen weirder stuff out in the wasteland, so they figure it is just one of those things.
Then these large predator beasts show up that are clearly looking for a nice snack, so the little guys scatter into their hiding places and the dogs decide to help defend their new allies.
After the battle the little guys are a little surprised they beat the creatures, but otherwise they’re pretty chill about it. They explain that as long as they don’t get into the way of the creatures they all live peacefully. But the dogs feel like living in constant fear of these bullies is hardly living. They decide to find out where these things live and pay them a visit.
So they track down their den and get into another fight with even more of them. After they beat them and get into the heart of the den there’s this room with all these cocoons in various states and the elder from before comes crawling out of a hole.
‘Oh, hey. What are you guys doing here?’ He wonders as he finds himself a nice spot and seemingly out of instinct starts cocooning himself.
The dogs have a back and forth with him as it is becoming obvious what is happening and they’re trying to argue him out of cocooning himself saying he’ll turn into one of those beasts and the elder just says; ‘Huh… Really?’ and then the cocoon becomes fully enclosed.
In the end the dogs realize there’s no ‘saving’ their new friends from the monsters. And if they value these creatures at all the only real option is to just stay away."Wait, he says. Do I look like a waiter?"

What is your guy’s favorite person living in a post apocalyptic setting misconception of life before the apocalyptic? ( for example in Fallout 4 the baseball guy who thinks Baseball was a murder sport)

ParticipantFor Lightning Dogs, it’s definitely Taku for me. But in other media, the first one that comes to mind is Button Gwinnett from Fallout 3.
