    Absolutely. Loved. That. Script!

    Just the visuals popping into my head as I read it. Incredible. Great job guys!!

    Question: Has anybody thought of calling Halloween Jack’s group the Scare Crew?

    have you guys come up with a naming convention for the Lighting Dogs vehicles
    because the idea of a Giant Big rig with three turrets called Cerberus keeps popping in my head

    A bus that is supercharged, named Greyhound.

    Absolutely loved following the progression of this concept, and I look forward to what it blooms into in the end. Truth be told, this has planted the seed of an idea for my own project which I’d like to develop, primarily the way you touched upon the sea beyond the Wasteland as a stormy, monster-filled abyss (apologies for the plug, looking for anyone who might be interested in helping to mould this itself into something, P.M. me).

    Back on-topic, I have listened to this particular series twice over, and it’s great to see just how far it’s come since it began as a joke. I understand you may very well have all your voices selected, but if an open audition ever occurs, I would love a chance to participate (I have done some amateur voice acting on top of writing and production). Anyway, wish there was more I could say that hasn’t been said already, but you’ve got another very enthusiastic supporter.

    Now, there are a few terms I thought of relating to dogs, which you might be able to use for something like a tool, weapon or vehicle: Flyball, Foxhound, Harrier, Longdog, Ridgeback, Sabertail, Screwtail, Swayback, Topline.

    two question have just crossed my mind
    one does Glampire have any powers beyond a very long lifespan?
    two has anyone come up with style for the lightning’s cars might look like?

    @TheBigBadShadowMan

    Glampire’s exact powerset is still TBD (working on it soon) but he does have one and some aspect of it will be vampyric. Super-strength? Weird metabolism? Life-leeching? All viable and for my money, likely.

    No definitive car designs either, though I think the general vibe we’re going for is Mad Max meets Big Daddy Roth. At east in part. Lots of fun stuff that can be done with vehicles.

    @Cap, crystal powered vehicles, or are you doing straight up hot rod stuff like in your design touchstones you mentioned?

    @cap I hope that the moment Glampire decide to get his hands dirty is a terrifying one

    Agreed. When the big bad gets involved, it needs to be a big deal, something that makes the heroes realise that they’ve really messed with the wrong person.

    @maxacree
    A bit of both, methinks. Crystals are a precious resource that I think might be best saved for energy weapons and the equivalent of a nitro boost. Otherwise, bio diesel? Anything they can scrounge up?

    @thebigbadshadowman
    / @deearris For sure. He’s the lead villain for a reason! It’s not just the LDs that fear him, it’s his entire realm.

    What about a desert dragster with some kind of revolving, cyclotron-like engine on the back or side? The potential toy gimmick could be that when you push the car along the ground, the wheels and the engine both spin. It’s still primitive compared to the pure energy of the crystals, but also not like our modern means of vehicle propulsion, so it has that kind of very rough, sand-blasted Mad Max/Fallout aesthetic.

    @Cap, I could see crystal boost happening in a couple of different ways based on current car tech depending on the level of verisimilitude you guys like in your stuff design. Both Formula 1 and World Endurance Championship cars are using stored electric energy systems that can be either released all at once for a nitrous-like speed boost or over time to supplement the combustion engine (most of today’s Hypercars like the LaFerrari and Porsche 918 share this trickle down tech on the street). This is an F1 KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) unit:
    KERS

    Magnetti Marellli makes the turbochargers on this year’s F1 car, and they have an electric motor that scavenges energy from the spinning turbine on acceleration, and can keep the rpms of the turbine up when the throttle is closed to prevent turbo lag on deceleration. They look pretty cool too:
    f1 turbo

    A competing technology is called “flybrid” drives, and these are actually purely mechanical systems of flywheels that work kind of like those toy race cars you’d roll a bunch of times to build up a bunch of inertia in the flywheel and then set down to race. The flywheels on the WEC cars using them spin faster than the sound barrier at the tips, so the housings actually have to keep the moving parts in a vacuum. this one is from Volvo, who says they will be putting it on street cars in the next few years:
    volvo flybrid

    The other means of getting Crystal boost that I can imagine is to actually consume them like a combustible agent; sort of like how you always see nitroglycerin working in movies where you drop it and it explodes. There was a short-lived technology around in the 1960s wherein you could replace the rear axle of your car with a novel rocket drive that burned a semi monopropellent to turn the wheels. They were sold in 750 or 1000hp increments, and the company was known as Turbonique, and they really existed to sell this monopropellent chemical that they had the patent on. They are rare to the point of being almost apocryphal, though in the last couple years the heir to one of the cigarette companies passed away and his personal Ford Galaxy with Turbonique axle went up for auction, proving at least one of them was sold to the public. The guy that started that company was also instrumental in starting the Showbiz Pizza Time chain of restaurants. Some Orlando trivia: recently downtown a small warehouse containing some of the monopropellent the Turbonique company was selling exploded, and brought that guy back into the news.

    Fact Check Followup:
    turbonique was based out of Orlando, but not affiliated with Aaron Fechter of Showbiz fame.

    the Orlando Explosion of 2013 was caused by Aaron Fechter, inventor of Whack-a-mole and the Showbiz Pizza Time animatronics, but he was not affiliated with Turbonique. He was trying to synthesize a similar novelty chemical out of water and graphite called…Carbohydrillium, allegedly for cooking with instead of Propane.

    So the rabbit hole is as deep as it ever was, just missing some connecting passages.
