ParticipantI’m sorry, it didn’t seem right to have that be the title without putting it in all caps.
With an mp3 player that has room enough only for 2 albums and one podcast, I’ve listened to the Lightning Dogs episode about four times in eight hours, and have had progressively little resistance to its charms.
So, I thought I’d throw a bone to the Dogs.
Everybody’s calls for cast members are pretty spot on. I imagine Halloween Jack as a mix of Eddie Izzard, Tim Minchin, and Riff Raff from Rocky Horror.
I don’t have the time or skill at present to do a full piece of fan art as I’d like to, but all of the talk about the Post-Apocalyptic setting, Motor City, and the main character being named Dingo, I envisioned some kind of terrible Mad Max world.
If and when I get around to the artwork, it’ll probably reflect that asthetic. Dingo dressed as Max, the Cheetara analogue as Tina Turner’s Aunty Entity, and the Terror Twins as members of the tribe of children from Beyond Thunderdome. Bowie as the Glampire and Pierre probably need no assistance, but the Diamond Dogs will probably be dressed as raiders of some kind or another.
It’ll be terrible.
Is anybody as psyched as I am for this completely tangential creation? What’re your thoughts on the whole ordeal?

KeymasterHa! Awesome awesome. We’re not gonna hold back. When we revisit this. Shit’s gonna get real.
Also, @MaxAcree did some waycool fan art via twitter:

ParticipantHaha, thanks for posting that, Cap. I was just about to pull them out of my phone. I’m thinking that the Cheetara analog needs to be some kind of Greyhound, but i haven’t gotten much further than that on the idea. I feel like the 1st edition Gamma World rules would make for an awesome Lightning Dogs RPG. Just throwing that out there.

ParticipantI was actually going to posit that Gamma World is pretty applicable to the postapocalyptic setting!
Although, while I was requesting more open-minded friends, mine have already allowed me to lead them down that rabbit hole.

KeymasterFunny you should mention that. Can’t say anything for sure about the RPG thing before we do more work but that and Gamma World had already been on my mind.
@maxacree I like this train of thought, a greyhound lady is a brilliant choice. We’ll see if Doug’s “rule 63” suggestion early into the discussion stays intact, we might have more than one lady in our show as a result.

Participant@cap If I weren’t in the middle of packing to move back to Orlando at the end of the month, I’d consider doing some unlicensed comics set in this universe.

ModeratorIf its supposed to be rule 63, then shouldn’t the cast be mostly female?

Keymaster@arkais In theory, yes, all but two. However, we moved away from that pretty quickly. Except for the Pat Benatar thing.

ModeratorAww, but I like the idea of The Glampire referring to them as ‘Lightning Bitches’ every time they thwart him…

Keymaster@Arkais Well, I mean, as far as Glampire is concerned they’re bitches no matter what kinda hoohoochacha they be rockin’.

KeymasterPat Benatar?! It was Joan Jett! Although, Pat Benatar would be awesome too. I’m cool with either.

ParticipantA Lightning Dogs shirt sounds like an awesome idea, even if you made them in a limited amount like the No Fangs shirts.

Inactive@Max I would also be down for some comics in this ‘verse.
