So I have done it. After years of thinking about it, and months planning it….it is done. I have formed a website! The concept is simple. Remove nostalgic feeling of an old game….is it still good? I will be continually expanding this premise and site for a good while now (I have paid in advance for it for 3 years so I will have to work on it now 🙂 ). The website is….
On Saturday the 15th, at 2pm Eastern Time we will be having episode 1 of “The Multitap”. Where we get together at my place and just drink and make an ass of ourselves while playing a game together. Episode 1 is 50 rounds of Mario Party 1!!! I sure hope you guys will tune in to the madness. We will be broadcasting live at: http://www.twitch.tv/holdthenostalgiaDecember 11, 2012 at 5:23 pm #27946MaxParticipant
I feel like that is a really fun exercise, but in my experience the only way to decouple nostalgia from the experience is to find somebody that has never played the game before. Is Mario Party 1 a game people are nostalgic for these days? If so, I feel really out of touch…December 11, 2012 at 8:15 pm #27956KaosubalooParticipant
You know. There are several people one these very forums who do LPs (which is one of the things you have on your site, obviously). You should consider integrating the two one some level.

Mario Party 1 is the best Mario Party.
Word of advice, igolem, if you don’t know already: Don’t play on DK’s stage OR Mario’s stage. They are ALWAYS the ones people play on and they are boring as hell.
Also facecam is a bad idea for any Let’s Play that isn’t a horror game; and even then, it’s not all that great.

It can also work for marathon’s where you tend to get crazy after a while (works better when streaming as well). And I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s automatically a bad idea, but it *is* unnecessary more often then not. After all, just because it doesn’t take anything away doesn’t mean it doesn’t add anything either.

It can work for a live stream, yes. In which case it’s important to make the distinction between a stream and a Let’s Play.
And it does take something away: focus on the game.

@kaosubaloo I would happily be willing to interstate the 2. Any contribution to the website outside of just me would be a great help. 🙂
Tomorrows episode is not really a critical one it is just a fun video that sparked the idea of making a site. Lets get drunk and live stream is playing Mario party!!! Those were the words that started the website. But because I want to write I then came up with the putting the nostalgic feelings aside 🙂
