So the groups tab works, but you might notice that it is blank right now. Creating groups can only be done by admins right now. Groups was set up this way so that we didn’t get just a whole ton of groups that became unimportant. Groups basically allow for you to have your own smaller community in the grand community. So my question to you is what are some groups that you would find interesting? Do you want a community group for Hexianity? Let me know. I need to know 3 things though.
Groups should be more of a way to communicate about events. General discussions about things like tabletop should stick to the site wide forums. We don’t have any tabletop events do we? I thought at one point there were ppl doing an online D&D game, but that might have been a different group
Ok. I’ll probably end up set up some sort of gaming group then which will include video games as well. That way ppl can subscribe to games that they might want to play together. Like if there are ppl who play tf2 or D&d.
So here’s a question: What does the follow button do? I have a number of Topics on various group forums that I want to get notifications for in the notification thingie and the top of the forums. I do NOT, however, want to receive Email notifications. Would I go about this by doing nothing, by following the topics, or is it something the the forum doesn’t support?
The mute and follow buttons are for email subscriptions on each thread. You can change your settings to get no email notifications on a group when you join. The mute and follow options are for individual emails on each forum topic. I’m not sure how to get group notifications in the notifications drop down.
