InactiveThe anticipation for this film needs to remain palpable. Jaws 15 may not be on the horizon, but with a little more information, maybe GB3 is.

ParticipantYeah, that doesn’t sound good. I mean why not got the extreme ghostbusters route instead of a reboot? You still get to use whatever original cast you can and you get to modernize the ghostbusters at the same time? If you want to make it darker just have it so that the missing members have fallen in the line of duty. A reboot scares me.

ModeratorFeh, this kinda stuff has been flying around the news networks for over a decade. When it comes to Ghostbusters 3, the best stance to have is “Cool story bro, I’ll believe it when I see a trailer.”
"You'd be surprised how many calories hedonism burns."

ParticipantI honestly don’t want a third movie. Sequel, reboot, whatever. Ghostbusters the movies are in my opinion done. They are definitely done with the passing of Harold Ramis. I think anything now would be a hollow shell of what was. I never want to see a new Ghostbusters movie see the light of day.

ParticipantI’d watch it.

InactiveHere is a “nice” blog keeping a summary of the articles realeased for GB3.

If done well, the movie could add to the GB culture. Personally I think it should be done as an homage to Ramis. Not as a recreate of his work (playing on nastaliga) or a “new vision” for the GB universe, but the focus being to put the material in a new setting and expand on what the ghostbusters would be if they existed for 30 years.
Also, there was a rummor that Melissa McCarthy may play in the film.
This may be horrible if she played the tough/kinda drunk/female horn dog/but with a heart of gold character. Nothing knocking it, but there is a place for it.
One idea about casting her in a GB role I like though, is giving here a set of slime gloves and having her interact with ghosts on the streets. maybe….August 27, 2014 at 8:56 pm #41584Max
ParticipantIf Melissa McCarthy is in it, you know they will have her be the obnoxious wisecracking Peter Venkman analog.

InactiveSo this showed up on the internet today.
It may not have the same title, but you know what it is right?

Participant“A remake of director Ivan Reitman’s 1984 comedy classic, Feig’s take on the property is said to be targeting a scarier tone that will not maintain any continuity with the original film or its 1989 sequel (or the surprisingly continuity-heavy animated series “The Real Ghostbusters,” for that matter).”
Targeting a scarier tone with that decidedly comedy cast? Not sure what to make of that choice.
