ParticipantHi everyone,
Pleased to meet you all, I thought this would be the best place to put this question. 🙂
Does anyone have a good GM screen (or just some sort of rule condensed-ness cool reference sheet) I could nab for use during our upcoming game?
I’ve seen the one in GhostToasties but my photoshop-Fu is week, so I can’t get it looking good enough for printing out and sticking together.
No hassle if not, I can always make a simple one using word or some else ‘simple. I’ll make sure to share with you guys if so.
Thanks muchly,

ParticipantHow do I get this printed out on cardstock?
November 4, 2014 at 2:58 pm #43509Scotbloke
ParticipantRedmenace, you are a gentleman and a scholar. That summary is EXACTLY what I was after. 🙂
Thanks very much for that,

ParticipantKristine Chester’s GB Rpg page, I believe she posts on this forum and has plans to post her Con adventures at some point.

ParticipantThis is an odd one. Someone went to the trouble to make a “Restatement” of the original GB Rpg with his house rules integrated into it. I’m posting the link for anyone who wants to take a look and for the sake of compleatness. There is also a short adventure based on a Real Ghostbusters Cartoon adventure at the end.

KeymasterWow. That guy put in a lot of time on rewriting the entire rule book. Don’t know why he felt the need to do that. Maybe to add his own rules? Either way, it should go without saying that most of the stuff in there is definitely considered non-canon by us. (Classes of ghosts higher than 7?! Up to 13?! Wtf?!) But if there’s anything you all think would make for a great new piece of equipment or rule, please point it out to us so we can test it.

ParticipantSo for new equipment cards:
Tablet or laptop computer which might come preloaded with a Ghostbusters Inc. package of Tobin’s, Spate’s Catalogue, the GB handbook and maybe a encrypted link to The Occult net database or the GB helpline equivalent.Real world ghost hunting gear emf detector, high end video camera w nightvision, also ecto vision if it is from GBI, a rig for several remote lipstick/security cameras and a dedicated linked dvr, smelling salts etc.
Home Psi testing kit a random number generator, zener cards, ganzfeld isolation kit, a car battery and alligator clips for following Venkman’s testing protocals..
Security Guard Maglight allows you to see in dark and adds 1d6 to Muscles when beating the crap out of something.
Handsfree headset as per the walkie-talkie but doesn’t take up one of the pc’s equipment slots
Energy drink/power bar/first aid kit, whatever allows a single user to recover 1d6 brownie points
Small r.o.v. or drone, which would have the standard camera, night/ecto vision, microphone and possibly a small led light. When you find a portal to hell or the ghost world you would load this baby up and send it in advance of your team on a scouting run. I’m thinking a small helicopter like drone but could be a rc car instead. Couse the Ghostbusters are clearly early adopters on the tech front.
The Ghostbusters Visa, a preloaded corporate credit card to cover expenses but usage would have to be justified back at HQ or at the Corporate HQ if it was really a big expenditure.
Psycho-Kinetic Field Disruptor or “Spook Nuke” creates a highly charged protonic blast that leaves material objects and living beings unharmed but temporarily disrupts and disperses ectoplasmic entities. The duration could be say from 15 minutes for powerful, but not godlike, entities and up to 24 hours for lesser ones. It wouldn’t solve the haunting but would allow a GB team to rescue people trapped in a haunted locale or maybe allow a team an exit strategy when they get in to a situation that is over their heads. Ideally it should be prohibitively expensive to use on every job and instead something that the team has back at headquarters for emergencies. Maybe it is so heavy that a player assigned it can’t carry anything else.
Alternative environmental recreation kits so we in coastal areas can enjoy the beach kit but that might not be as much fun in say Iceland. This could get out of hand easily but maybe a ski kit, camping kit, bail/bribe money, aspirin, morning after pill, epipen loaded with penicillin, prepaid phonecard with GB legal services phone number printed on it for a post spring break or Mardi Gras fun kit, little bottles of booze to take the edge off a hangover, etc.

KeymasterSo for new equipment cards:
Tablet or laptop computer which might come preloaded with a Ghostbusters Inc. package of Tobin’s, Spate’s Catalogue, the GB handbook and maybe a encrypted link to The Occult net database or the GB helpline equivalent.Don’t know why you’d want to carry that around with you as equipment during a bust. There’s no rule saying you CAN’T have one in the car. Whenever we’re not in combat, we just assume one of the players is carrying a smartphone with access to all of that information online. In today’s world, it’s just a given that you’d have this already.
Real world ghost hunting gear emf detector, high end video camera w nightvision, also ecto vision if it is from GBI…
With all the cool stuff from the movies and games, why would you want some boring equipment like an emf detector? We at GBI only use the highest precision instruments that are field tested and proven to detect, measure, and classify ghosts. Plus, modified Ecto Goggles could do all that anyway. Just ask for a decent Brains roll.
Home Psi testing kit a random number generator, zener cards, ganzfeld isolation kit, a car battery and alligator clips for following Venkman’s testing protocals.
The Aural Video Analyzer does this already. With SCIENCE! Bwahahaa!
Security Guard Maglight allows you to see in dark and adds 1d6 to Muscles when beating the crap out of something.
Shoulder mounted flashlights are part of the standard uniform. Plus, why use it as a weapon? You’ve got a Proton Pack! Who’s gonna mess with you?
Handsfree headset as per the walkie-talkie but doesn’t take up one of the pc’s equipment slots
True. But it still needs to rest on your belt just like any other smaller equipment like the PKE Meter.
Energy drink/power bar/first aid kit, whatever allows a single user to recover 1d6 brownie points
We’re 99% sure a First Aid Kit will be included in the next batch of cards. 😉
Small r.o.v. or drone, which would have the standard camera, night/ecto vision, microphone and possibly a small led light…
Not a bad idea. It would just really depend on the level of funding your particular franchise gets. Rich Ghostbusting isn’t as fun in my opinion. But this is “realistic” enough. It would take up a lot of space in the car, though.
The Ghostbusters Visa, a preloaded corporate credit card to cover expenses but usage would have to be justified back at HQ or at the Corporate HQ if it was really a big expenditure.
Don’t need an equipment card for this. Just assume you have one. But it might be more fun if you didn’t.
Psycho-Kinetic Field Disruptor or “Spook Nuke” creates a highly charged protonic blast that leaves material objects and living beings unharmed but temporarily disrupts and disperses ectoplasmic entities.
The “Ghost Bomb” works similar to this. Still looking into it.
Alternative environmental recreation kits so we in coastal areas can enjoy the beach kit but that might not be as much fun in say Iceland. This could get out of hand easily but maybe a ski kit, camping kit, bail/bribe money…
True, but a “standard beach kit” is hilariously useless. Plus, you can put whatever you want in it (within reason). It’s meant to be a special card that could provide a plausible excuse as to why you’d have something you wouldn’t otherwise already have. Like spare toilet paper or alcohol. Mostly just for comedic effect.
But there is no rule saying you can’t use ANY of these in your own campaign. As long as it’s still fun, who cares?

ParticipantI am going to throw in my dark matter powered beach kit that has a built in mp3 player, tv projector, cup holders, and a portable hole where I can access everything in my fridge at the firehouse. It also works as a portable containment grid that plays every album, group and solo, of the Monkeys in my new therapeutic attempt to positively charge the spooks rehabilitating them.
It is a work of art the fits in the back of a pickup truckNovember 21, 2014 at 6:06 pm #43790Mijder
ParticipantWell since we’re talking about Dark Matter…
I know the generator basically acts like an Ecto-Shotgun, but with it, once the ghost is down to 0 ectopresense it the ghost just vapor or is it just now able to be trapped?
Ran a game this past weekend and the understanding was the it was basically a shotgun and once you were brought down to 0 or less with it you were bye bye. Starting to think now though that that was wrong. Mind you, if this is the case, I can just have NY start getting very concerned how a podunk branch like Columbia got a hold of a seemingly overpowered generator (and the ethical issues of vaporizing spectres) and spin a story thread out of it. -
