So it’s nothing even remotely definite, however after my recent trip to A Comic Shop (which is awesome, and all of you need to go once in your life if for no other reason than to acquire one comic and a mac-n-cheese burger) my wife and I discussed the idea of going there, setting up for a day, and running a kind of all-comers-welcome (or possibly a with specific, predefined people) Pathfinder game in the Geekeasy.

If we did this, it would likely be a one-off, as, at least in my family’s case, with a toddler (who’d be with his grandparents) and the fact that we live hours away, it’s not really viable for us to hang out there often.

Does anyone who works there or who knows the place know if this would be an okay thing to do? I know that restaurants can be kind of twitchy when customers annoyingly come in, claim an area, and don’t leave for hours… but then again, the Geek Easy isn’t a normal place, so, you know, I was curious. It’d likely be a Saturday, if we did anything, but if it’s in the summer (when she has off for being a teacher – one of the exceedingly few job-based perks) it might be on a weekday.

Ideas for how to run it include: allowing people to make characters on-site, having pregenerated characters (which would automatically limit the number of potential players), or having people make their characters in advance.

Again, let me stress how hypothetical this is: it may not happen soon, and might never materialize depending on life-stuff.
That said… any other ideas or suggestions from this awesome community?

The GE, though open to general public for eating, is a members establishment. There’s been a lot of policy changes recently, so I’m not really sure what they’re okay with for the moment. Camped out group activities might be an issue. There are gaming related events there from time to time, at one point it was even branded as Dungeons & Doritos, but I don’t know what the sitch is these days. Best to inquire via their facebook page or something.

    Thanks, Cap! 🙂

As I said (or at least tried to) I’d understand if they weren’t too interested in the “camped out” thing, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I’ll look into Facebook. 🙂
