I was wondering if anyone had put out guidelines as to what is and is not acceptable on the forums. I hadn’t seen any posts specifically with adult themes so I was curious if that was off limits or if no one had thought to post about those things.
I’ll preface this with a note that I do not speak for the entire Forum mod & Admin staff.
That said, we tend to fly it pretty loose here as to what is and is not acceptable posting. Generally, if it’s not illegal, it is probably okay with a few additional limitations:
* Don’t talk about Griefers/Griefing. This is mostly for the Minecraft guys but we have a policy to NOT mention this asshats so as to not immortalize their dickish antics in any sense.
* No hate speech. We understand that Nerds can get into pretty heated arguments and unless things get really out of hand we’ll likely not touch an argument; however, Nerdyshow aims to be inclusive and accepting of everyone. As such, Racism, Sexism or any other kind of -ism WILL be dealt with.
* Try to keep it away from really excessively violent or Sexual stuff. Nerdyshow leans rather hard towards being R-Rated and the Forums reflect this, but it’s probably better to NOT link to Hardcore Porn or the like.
In other words, don’t be a dick and you’re probably good. Most of us are adults here and the ones who aren’t are fooling themselves if they think we don’t know they do all the stuff they “shouldn’t”. Language is also a total non-issue as long as, again, you stay away from the hate speech. (Personally I think the concept that a word is inherently bad is patently ridiculous in the first place, but no one around here really cares one way or another so it works for me).
