ParticipantAm I the only one who’s experiencing this? About every other attempt I have to write/input/submit/update/etc anything, it tends to completely wipe out and just refuse to do it (causing me to lose everything I was attempting to do).
This this goes on for a while until finally it gets “fixed”, but… it’s extremely frustrating to work through. (I’ve copied this message just to make sure that I can finally submit it).
This has proven true with both Firefox and Google Chrome, so I don’t think it’s the browser, and all the other sites work well, so I don’t think it’s just me. But it’s a strange problem. This is true with even nerdyshow.com, too.

ParticipantYeah I’ve noticed when downloading new episodes that it stops like the server stopped sending data it usually takes 2 or 3 tries to finish the file. I haven’t noticed it in the forums as much (other than the lag of seeing posts), but I haven’t posted much recently.

ParticipantIt’s been really nasty for me the last couple of attempts I’ve made to post, PM, or do anything, really.
Anyway, one other question while I’m here: is there any way to get the forum to display a little “smaller” so that I don’t have to scroll to read posts/get to the submit button/etc?
Second Attempt on this post.

ParticipantI’ve been experiencing both of these problems too, but much more the new episode d/ling issue (through iTunes).
I know the forum display issue has been addressed a few times and if my memory serves me correctly, they said there was nothing to be done about it. *sad face*

ParticipantWhoa. No delay on that post showing up. Has that issue been resolved?
To the management team: Site performance regarding those problems has been improving for me since the new site layout swap, so keep up the good work. Or pass that along to your hosting company. Whoever’s responsible.

KeymasterHey guys, we’ve been trying to resolve all these issues. Really appreciate you guys posting on this, especially about the problems with episode downloads. Our load problems are really complicated and a definite growing pain of the site. A lot of it can be attributed to malicious attacks and bots taxing our load times as they try to hack us. Please let us know how persistent these problems are and anything else that comes up and we’ll do our damnedest to get it fixed asap.

KeymasterI was doing a lot of backend stuff Sunday and noticed some lag etc. The current todo list is to attempt to shrink down our memory footprint, and then also speed up page load times (right now I’m looking into the image sizes on the front page as a source of some of the extra time). Also page reload times for the front page (i.e. return visits) should be pretty fast now. We of course ask for your cooperation and feedback, it’s all very much a work in progress.

ParticipantToday I had to reload the forums quite a few times to be able to post anything the last several times (or even see a thread).
In this specific case, however, I’m not pretty sure that not all of the problems are on your end (and, in fact, know that at least a few are in mine) because my internet has been acting a little wonky.
Still, this site has had substantially more problems than other sites, so… :/
Nonetheless, I want to say: you guys are awesome! Thanks for making and maintaining a forum!

ParticipantI’d like to note that aside from Nerdy Show Prime: Masked Justice failing once today (and needing to be reloaded), the site’s been behaving quite well. I don’t know if there’s anything you’re doing differently, or it’s all on my end, or something in between, but I thought you’d like to know. 🙂

KeymasterI was messing around with it today enough to have probably cause most of those errors… The good news is that last night we fixed one of the problems I found which unexpectedly dramatically improved the servers memory situation. Keep us posted though because I’m going to be configuring a caching feature over the next few days. I’m especially interested in errors related to comments not showing up, but if anything weird happens let us know.

InactiveHere is a list of some broken links I have found so far.
D&D Episode 4 :: Mid-Day in the Maze of Mischief
D&D Episode 5 :: Birdbath
D&D Episode 6 :: The Labrador & the Laboratory
D&D Episode 7 :: Foul Deeds at Cool Ranch
D&D Episode 8 :: Fouler Deeds at Cool Ranch
D&D Episode 9 :: The Medallion of Mists
D&D Episode 10 :: The Fight to Free Tolay
-All the download links are broken“Do They Know It’s Crunchmas?” is good though.

KeymasterThanks for posting this. It’s EXTREMELY strange. I got word recently that the files weren’t working and I found out that everything we’d posted from an arbitrary date in 2011 had been disconnected from the podcast player. So I reconnected much of it including all D&D. Now it’s buffering perpetually and the download link goes to the front page (I assume these are the problems you had?)
The one thing they all have in common is that the file name has a space (indicated by the % symbol) No other D&Ds have this. I’ll go back in and see if it can be remedied by reupping them without spaces.
UPDATE I removed the spaces from the file names and they all work now.
