Feedback and Ideas

Hey guys, I hope you’ve been enjoying Derpy Show. We’re about to record another episode we’d like a little feedback on what you want to hear more of, and/or topic ideas.
So if you have anything you’d like to hear us derp about or if you found an odd news article or something, let us know!August 14, 2012 at 10:50 am #25509

I’ll be honest, I kind of dropped Derpy Show out of my rotation. A lot of the topics felt really poorly researched, which is fine as far as it goes, but there were enough things I found myself going “Argh, if they don’t care enough to know what they are talking about, why should I care enough to listen?” Or there was some trolling afoot, either way it wasn’t really doing anything for me after a few episodes.August 14, 2012 at 1:34 pm #25512
Max, your points are fair enough. We definitely had some ramblings in the first episode or two that were very un-researched (the Sega talk in the pilot comes to mind quickly). There has been less of that lately.
However, in order to keep with our theme we will never get too intellectual, and at least mild trolling will persist. I hope nobody tunes into Derpy Show hoping to learn something.
The first few episodes were indeed a bit rough, and we’re just now starting to feel comfortable with the format. If you’ve just started listening to Derpy Show, or quit after episode 2, I’d urge you to give Episode 4 and the upcoming Episode 5 a try. If you don’t like those, then it’s probably just not for you. It’s definitely not typical Nerdy Show programming.August 14, 2012 at 9:47 pm #25531
I don’t know. I kinda like the aspect of rambling on about whatever. Probably worked a lot better as a live radio show, though, but it’s still amusing. My complaint? Weekly releases. MOAR PODCASTS! 😈 But seriously, I listen while I work and I get bored easily. 🙂

I have genreally enjoyed what I’ve heard. The main selling point for me is definitely the ramble-ramble-trolololol aspect. Doubly so because you guys get trolled just as hard (both by each other and guests/topics) as you do your audience. Perfect example?
Guess who, it's Kaosubaloo!August 14, 2012 at 11:21 pm #25533
I really have grown to like Derpy Show, though I wasn’t sure I did at first. It reminds me of earlier Nerdy Show and OCAD. But I feel the same way as @duraphago in that I want more Derpy Show!August 14, 2012 at 11:24 pm #25535
@duraphago – Thanks for the kind words. I’m sorry we skipped out on one recently. I got really busy with Nerdapalooza related shenanigans and Derpy Show got a bit sidelined. As far as more often goes, we get 100% less funding than Nerdy Show, so we have to make due with the equipment and time that we have. Maybe some day we can expand, but it won’t be for a while (unless of course we get insanely popular and start making money…pfft, yeah).
@kaosubaloo – We have plans for bringing back the “Ask a foreigner” segment soon, I just need to wrangle a certain English fellow I know. I’m sure he’ll troll the crap out of us.August 15, 2012 at 12:18 pm #25542
After listening to the new episode (ep5), I like the chopter segment and the reaction/description to /r/spacedicks. The episodes do seem to be getting better.

No doubt switching to a recorded show is a bit of a hurdle. You don’t have the live interaction with listeners as a radio show. I seem to remember early Nerdy Show having little hiccups and silences after the switch, but I haven’t listened to those in a few years, so I might be remembering it incorrectly.

Just discovered derpy show and it is fuckin hilarious. Best thing to listen to when working.August 17, 2012 at 7:36 pm #25627
I actually enjoy the trolling and such. I think you guys are pretty damn funny.
BUT I stopped listening when you spoiled a big part of Mass Effect 3 for me without and warning.
That bugged the crap outta me. There is nothing wrong with spoilers as long as you give the people listening a chance to stop before you spill them.August 17, 2012 at 9:42 pm #25628
@finakechi Sorry about that man. Snorlax and I haven’t even played ME3 yet, and I’m not sure that Neofaust has either. I would have edited that out if I knew it was some sort of actual spoiler. Neofaust gets to rambling and we don’t know what is factual and what is just in his head. I know Snorlax and I were just going off of what was plastered all over the internet way before we recorded that. We’ll be more careful in the future, I don’t like to spoil, and usually we yell spoiler alert if we talk about things like that. I’m pretty sure we haven’t spoiled anything since that, and I’d never have even known there were any if you hadn’t pointed it out.August 18, 2012 at 2:12 pm #25630
It’s okay I am over it now. I was a little irritated then but its no big deal.
I would just try to watch out for those things, us nerds can RAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.October 15, 2012 at 2:12 pm #26780
I think I speak for us all when I say we need more “Derpapella” in our lives.
