Hey gang! You know how we ask to rate and review us on iTunes at the end of every episode? We got a good response from that with our long-running Network feed. However, since we gave every show a unique feed earlier this year, they need some love too. D&D in particular. We’ve only got one review and it’s crazy-negative!

Granted, I hear the guy’s pain. Despite their popularity, the first episodes are a tough listen and anyone jumping in from the beginning will have no idea the quality that we gained later on. And folks wonder why I insist new people start at the beginning of Book II or III!

We’re still working on those long-awaited remasters. Clearly we need to step it up! But hey… the 5th anniversary of D&D is coming up so… it could happen!

Also – don’t forget about the D&D Q&A next month! http://nerdyshow.com/nerdyforums/topic/dd-qa-live-event-wed-sept-24th/ More info coming – check this thread!

In the meantime, you could edit all of, say, the Book I episodes with a preface recommending that new listeners begin at Books II or III and explain that the earlier episodes are a lot rougher than what they’ve become and don’t represent the show accurately now.

I think their opinion about the jokes being unfunny sounds like it came from the perspective of listening to older episodes for the first time in 2014, when any topical references become terribly outdated. If they really did only listen to a few early episodes without realizing the context, it’s unfair to you guys for them to make that call. If they had listened to some more recent episodes and still had that opinion though, well then they’re just surly curmudgeons for whom there’s no pleasing.

Hey guys, I popped on and reviewed on iTunes.
I noticed while I was on there that it’s not marked where the books of the series begin and end. I had to read the episode list a second time to realize that it was actually sequential from bottom to top.
Maybe a more standard labelling of the episodes would look/work better.

Sailin' about port to port, Smokin' 'em out fort by fort,
Stealin' their loot ton by ton, Takin' their ships one by one.

@Maraun Yeah, there’s a lot of ugly carryover from years of posting variations (like an city being built atop itself for millennia) – we’re transitioning the D&D feed to Soundcloud shortly which will correct a lot of that.
