I’d just like to preface this by saying I’m a big fan of the podcast. Me and a few of my friends started listening just a few months ago, and we’re already all caught up. Can’t wait for season three!

Anyhow, listening to you guys and your Ghostbusting adventures got me inspired us to start our own campaign. During our last Skype planning session, one of my friends suggested the possibility of the Central Florida and International/European Ghostbusters making a cameo appearance here and there (ala the New York gang in your campaign). So, to put it as bluntly as possible:

    1. Is it okay if we use your characters in our campaign?

    2. For the sake of complete accuracy, would it be possible for you to provide me with character sheets/profiles/stats/whatever for them?

    CONGRADULATION!!

@spinstrike Glad you like the show! So awesome that you’re going to start your own campaign. But to answer your questions:

    1. Yes! It’s okay to use any characters in your campaign! It’s your campaign, after all. You control the world and make the rules. Just make it fun!

    2. I’ll post everyone’s Season 3 starting stats as soon as I get home from work. Let me know if you want the stats of any other NPCs from our game.

@doug Thank you so much! Now I have another reason to be excited for season three. 🙂

I think it might be easier if I just list everything out:

-The original five Central Florida Ghostbusters (the current four, plus Bjornstad), along with Nina, Tobin, and Doug
    -The five European/International Ghostbusters
-Generic werewolf and vampire templates (I’ve had an idea for a vampire-related plotline milling in my head, and I may as well cover werewolve while I’m at it)

    CONGRADULATION!!

Wow, it’s cool getting to see the stats of the GBR team. Through listening I knew a lot of the Talents, but could not have predicted that their scores were so high. I take it there have been a few increases in between seasons? Doug, how have you gone about letting the guys increase their core stats? And, I know Briggs began with a Muscles talent of Climbing and later changed it to Run (Until now I actually assumed he had picked up a second Talent). Has the option been available to the guys to pick up extra Talents or do you let them swap in between seasons, but limit them to one per stat?

@12thknight I let the team switch out stats between seasons if I feel it’s justified. They only get one “talent” per stat.

The reason their numbers are so high is because saving the world twice (and achieving goals) earns a LOT of Brownie Points, and the team decided to cash in those Brownie Points (30 at a time!) to permanently increase a chosen stat by 1.

So as you can see, they’ve been working hard keeping the world safe.

@Doug That’s cool, I thought that’s what you were doing with talents. Any chance I could get a copy of your Date routine, it’s interesting that it isn’t one of the examples in the book, since the way the goals are set up it’s the one that is almost guaranteed to come up at some point.

Sent. I think we’ll have to release the dating routine and maybe a few others on the GBRPG hub around the time Season 3 launches.

If I could also have the dating routine soon as well, please? Next week we actually DO begin some love passions. It’s about to get really hot in here. I’d like to think the dating for our session is going to end up like the ‘I Want to Know What Love Is,’ music number from Rock of Ages (both the musical and the movie).

oh, and here are my team’s profiles:

    Doctor Brendan Rome (The Brains)
    Brains – 5 (Occult)
    Cool – 2 (Charm)
    Moves – 3 (Fire Weapon)
    Muscle – 2 (Brawl)
    Goal: To find happiness again

    Natalie Denver (The Muscles/Mechanic)
    Brains – 5 (Mechanical Repair)
    Cool – 3 (Convince)
    Moves – 2 (Dodge)
    Muscles 2 (Lift)
Goal: To serve humanity. (She has a hidden motive to her Ghostbusting where she encountered the Sandman as a kid who scared her. She wants to one day hold him long enough to give him specifically one punch in the face, and one kick to the groin.)

Joe Deemer (The Experimental Equipment Technician)
    Brains- 5 (Electronics)
    Cool – 2 (Convince)
    Moves – 3 (Fire Weapon)
    Muscles – 2 (Brawl)
    Goal: To bust ghosts.

The profiles are just in case anyone wants to do a crossover. My plan for S2 is to do a sort-of ‘Haunted America’-styled storyline. Basically S1 is about protecting the Vineyard, S2 is about what happens when the call demands they be taken across America out of familiar territory. If anyone wishes to do a crossover where the team stops by, let me know and we’ll talk about it!

Whatever you want and Doug want, Cap. Either release early or PM me. I’m fine with either.

@rgbbr Brendan, you just alleviated my anxiety about “roles” within a Ghostbusters team. If a team of three 5 Brains characters can make it work, than any other combo can, too.

The Fredericksburg Area Ghostbusters start this Saturday. Maybe we’ll be able to share some of our stats, too.

@12thknight, we do have openings for more recruits. I think each franchise can make their own Ghostbusters different and unique. That’s actually my problem with the remake, is that they’re claiming to be “new characters” when they’re just really watered down versions of what the original characters were. McCarthy = Someone who thinks they’re great (Venkman), Jones = Someone who is just brought on for one more member because the others can’t work on their own (Winston), Someone who is into science and has a relationship with their secretary (Egon, and I feel dirty saying that considering Egon would know better than to lick Ectoplasam from a proton gun), Someone who is too curious and points out how badly their mistakes went (Stanz). Then again, despite being a bit questionable at first, Annie Potts never did THIS: http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2016/04/26/ghostbusters-celebrates-chris-hemsworth-for-administrative-professionals-day/. They even call him “dumb” in this version! IN A PROMOTION FOR ADMINISTRATIVE DAY!!!

*Aheam* Sorry. Been working hard lately. I’m good.

Anyways, yeah. My character might be the ‘Egon’ type, but I also gave him a bit of light-hearted humor in the lieu of Morty from Rick and Morty, but also the good-hearted nature and assurance of things working out like the 11th Doctor from Doctor Who, to help differentiate him. Basically, I think each team works because they can be similar, but not TOO similar or too obviously watered down. But it’s ultimately the GM and friend’s choice.

Thanks by the way. I’ll let you know when we’re going to do the ‘Road Trip’ Second Season if you want to have an X-Over. I’d hate to do this, but I think at some point we’ll have the team listening to ‘Holliday Road’ at some point during their journey.
