Hey everybody, it’s me, your favourite stab-happy Australian!

You may have noticed a lack of activity from us. (at least, a lack of activity here; the blog is still seeing updates every now and then) We’re sorry about that. Between the Christmas break and working out our plans for 2013, we haven’t had much time to work on actual episodes of All Nerds Must Be Eaten.

But, at last, we can announce some stuff!

    1. Episode 4 is being worked on. Still. Even without the time off for the holidays, it probably would have taken awhile; substantial audio issues, along with there just being a ton of content make it a bit of a daunting task for Twothums. What this means is that instead of one supermassive episode (maybe some other time), we’ll be splitting it up into not two, not four, not eight thousand, but THREE parts! These will be released closer to each other than the previous three full episodes, and the first part should come out within the next month!

    2. We do other stuff. As mentioned, we have our blog at allnerdscollective.tumblr.com, where we’ll now be putting up content from some of the guys. Mostly rant articles. Twothums will share his two cents on various topics every two weeks, while Arkais, Sage, Trench and myself will put out stuff every month or so (hoping for the best).

2b. “Other stuff” also means “other RPGs”. If the zombie setting isn’t that exciting to you, or you want to see how we do when we play characters that aren’t ourselves, we’ve got quite a few different games to play! Arkais runs our own campaign of the Pokémon Tabletop game that you may remember from the critically-acclaimed Pokéballs of Steelix; Trench will be running a new, steampunk RPG funded on Kickstarter by the name of “Tephra”; Sage runs sessions of Ghostbusters that I still need to make a character to join in on, and I will be running…ah, I’ll leave that as a surprise.

We play these more or less each week, and this year, we want to start actually sharing them with you guys. However, as you might expect, producing something on the level of ANMBE, Dungeons and Doritos, Pokéballs or Ghostbusters takes a bit of time (and the last time we tried to produce our own game of Pokémon as a podcast, all the files went to Kahalis and never returned). So instead of waiting, we plan to livestream our raw sessions! Every Friday or Saturday (U.S time), we’ll aim to stream a session of whatever we’re playing that week!

Our test of this yesterday went wonderfully, as we spent two hours starting our new campaign of Pokémon. Fair warning: while we may end up playing in shorter sessions than usual, our raw sessions have been known to go from three to six hours easily with tangents factored in. If that sounds like your ideal Friday or Saturday night, we’ll post stream information later, and again when we’re close to going live. After we stream, we’ll be taking the recorded audio and doing a tiny bit of production on it, then putting it on the blog.

2c. Speaking of which, we have done a couple of other podcasts, too! We’ve discussed stuff like movies and TV shows and all that fun stuff the cool nerds like in the past six months or so, but were hampered by the lack of a place to put them (that doesn’t have annoying limits on time or size), since these aren’t hosted by Nerdy Show. That problem has been fixed now, with our discovery of Mixcloud! Within the next month, we should have some new, non-RPG podcasts, also posted on the blog.

Oh, and if you like the OCAD/Nighthorse guys doing their Dramatically Drunken Fanfiction readings, watch this space…

    3. As well as the blog, we have our Facebook and Twitter pages you can “Like” and “Follow” us on. This is less an announcement and more a reminder, since I don’t think we’ve properly mentioned them before. You can also email us at anmbepodcast@gmail.com

    4. There isn’t a fourth point. I felt like I needed to continue the list and if I deleted the number now, I’d be admitting defeat. No regrets!

    5. We plan to make video content, too! And by “video content”, we mean “Let’s Plays”, which are the only true video content anyway. There’s at least four of us in the group, last time I checked with my incredible mathlete skills, and there are a fair few awesome four player games we can play together: Magicka, Torchlight, Terraria (maybe; last time didn’t work out so well), Left 4 Dead, and just wait ’til I get the guys to try Mario Party (heheheheh). We don’t have a set date for these to come out; most of the games depend on me getting a new mouse that works 100% of the time, so we’ll see how we go.

5b. Some of you might remember that we occasionally did livestreams where we watched One Piece and talked over it. That stopped happening, but the plan hasn’t gone away. We might end up doing other animes/TV shows, but we’re still keen on it. No promises, though.

    6. There is no sixth point, because we’re out of points!

And that’s the end of our announcements! Does that all sound exciting? Does it sound ridiculously ambitious? Well, that’s what we’re going for. Again, follow our Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr to get all the updates on things that are happening, especially for the live events, if you’re into that sort of thing. We’re stoked to get the ball rolling on a lot of these things that have been kicking around as potential ideas for the past few months, and we hope you’ll all like what we cook up!

Until we meet again, fair readers/listeners/viewers/*redacted*ers!

    Regards,

    ~Roy42

I already extended this to Twothums but I’ll throw it in here as well. As a fellow LPer, I am always looking for opportunities to record and release colabs with people. As such, I would be MORE than happy to fill in on any games where you’re a player short.

Also, being slightly more off-topic for a moment, we should really get around to doing a coop with just the two of us at some point. I know a while ago we (sort of) talked about Some brawl matches, but be should really work out a time to just do something already.

    Guess who, it's Kaosubaloo!
