…scratch that.
Ok guys, I know a few of you here know who Erik Burnham and Dan Schoening are. Well, the secret 666K goal was an ORIGINAL STORY AND ART from them!
This is super exciting. Since the ongoing comic was cancelled, this could hardly be more exciting.

My first reaction is….geez, that’s a lot of guns for a Ghostbusters game.
I guess you ain’t afraid of no ghosts, but you damn well BETTER be afraid of humans because humans are terrifying.

An interesting thing about Peck is, he kind of HAD to be written (and acted) as a huge slime ball. If he wasn’t, you run the risk of the audience actually taking his side when it turns out he was right and they were wrong. And he WAS right, he was just wrong about how he was right…if that makes sense. Basically, this is a case of a guy who’s got…[Read more]

Just in case it’s useful, here’s the rest of the technical mumbo jumbo from the Ghostbusters video game. Maybe it will be useful in the “Fake Science” department.
Here’s the stuff on the Dark Matter Generator.
THE DARK MATTER GENERATOR:
– The most advanced piece of technology that the Ghostbusters ever made. Piece of art, marvel of technology…[Read more]

Here’s the description of the “Plasm Distribution System” from the video game (Dan Akyroyd himself was key consultant on the tech copy in that game. See if you can tell.)
Increased force Upgrade: “Desc: Channeling a low-level stream from the pack’s proton emitters directly into the Plasma Containment Vessel has nearly tripled the ectoplasm’s…[Read more]

That might work… put restrictions on it’s use.
1) the combo packs that exist never got out of the prototyping stage so a ghost die when using one has a chance for a malfunction. (No “bugs” were ever worked out of those designs and it’s implied that before Rookie, a user disintegrated firing a prototype pack. They are not safe!)
2) only busters…[Read more]

The comic book did the same thing.
The thing was probably too damn heavy for practical use anyway.

Welcome to how I feel. 🙁 It was cancelled really suddenly too. Nobody was ready for it to end.
It was probably a licensing thing, since Sony’s been swearing they were making GB3 in Spring of 2015 for a while now and seem determined as hell to keep to that, so this might be clearing the deck for the next film. But with the new movie being (for…[Read more]

I think I remember Burnham saying in an interview that he was lucky to get permission to include the crossover in the ongoing’s continuity. So this could be considered a consideration of the post-Mass Hysteria world, if you want it to be.
I thought it was great, considering all the pieces that needed to be moved into place. The Ghostbusters just…[Read more]
