Ha! Yeah, don’t let me tempt you into putting time into designing a character on the spot, Cap. But it is clear what kind of a take you’ve got on it.
I like the idea of two different worlds of creatures actually being linked through this act of metamorphosis; a caterpillar lives in a different place and eats different stuff from a butterfly,…[Read more]

That sounds more like a suggestion than a question, BigBad 😉
That’s not a complaint or anything, it’s just that I’d suspect the answer would simply be; ‘sure, why not? That sounds cool.’
So, if you don’t mind, how about amending the question to; What kind of a morphing peoploid would you be excited for to add to the wasteland. What was it and…[Read more]

He’s fine. Just not actively involved with the network at this point in time.
He’s been making ‘loaded dice’ (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/screechdragon/loaded-dice), making some kind of tabletop game called ‘Robits’ (apparently releasing this month, perhaps NS will cover it sometime soon and Hex will come on for it?) and being a…[Read more]

Right, that’s a totally acceptable way of getting from crystal contamination to the death of the human civilization. Such a chain of events is very nuanced and natural, but I feel a more instantaneous transition could be more dramatic, cleaner and ’satisfying’.

That might very well be an apocalypse worse than having the planet ruined by full on thermonuclear war. Having children to only find them to be non-human…. What do you do with a child like that?
Though it doesn’t seem obvious for a super mutation cataclysm to produce a world that is mostly wasteland. Wouldn’t the huge new variety of life find…[Read more]

I attempted to post something earlier about why I thought anything other than a barter economy for the wasteland would be odd, but it didn’t take. Turns out you’ve chosen your economics wisely!

Critiques on the movie right after it came out along these lines were generally parried by fans saying they’d make it all better in the next two movies. All would be explained and everything would be amazing if only we could see the full picture. That could still be entirely true, even if the sentiment seems to be turning. What could be flaws in a…[Read more]

Thanks for what you’ve brought us up to this point, and hopefully you get to add much, much more to it in the future.
Good luck, Josh!

I’m not sure anyone could tell you exactly why @Doug. Surely people are afraid of the system they are paying taxes for being exploited by ‘lazy people’. And while the motion might not have been vague (could have been, though) it certainly calls for a sweeping and radical change to the system as it is in place right now. Politics wise, Switzerland…[Read more]

Today the Swiss had a referendum on the matter of implementing a basic income for the entire country, though it is looking like 78% of the Swiss voted against it.
Not exactly surprising that it won’t be happening just yet, but the fact that a significant amount of people supported the referendum and then there still being some 20% voting in…[Read more]

I’ve pressed play on the video instead of the Soundcloud player twice or thrice, though not to actually sit down and watch the video intently. But it at least allows me the option to go back to the tab and watch you guys talk in case I feel it is getting particularly interesting or some such.
But improving upon it? I don’t know… Have the links…[Read more]

I accidentally stumbled onto a regional news bulletin about a bunch of locals forming an group to ‘further basic income’ and was reminded that Utrecht should be running its experiment starting right about now. I figured some of you here might be interested in the progress on this subject, so here’s what’s up.
It turns out this experiment in…[Read more]

Hah, shouldn’t State of the Empire be more nerdy by definition? Star Wars may be nerdy, but it is still meant to appeal to a broad audience. SoTE is too in depth and specialized for anyone but (hardcore?) fans of Star Wars (/Willow) and nerdery.
