@cap @tony Thank you very much. I’ll probably go with a pleather once I get my modified pattern made. Is there a particular interior/lining color for the coat? if not I was just going to go with another shade of green. The pattern I have has a couple of side seam pockets on the coat so I’ll probably keep those in. I’ll post progress pics when I get the muslin more put together. I’ll probably post more frequently to https://garayurcosplay.tumblr.com/

I have some questions about Dr. Kane Corso’s outfit. I’m using the https://lightningdogs.deviantart.com/art/Lightning-Dogs-Paw-dcast-Preview-Kane-642358838 image as a reference. I’m starting to gather resources and begin planning a cosplay for him. I have a trenchcoat pattern and am going to start there. Do you have any particular materials in mind for the trenchcoat? Right now I’m looking at bottomweight fabric for both the light and dark green sections, as I’m assuming they are basically the same material, just in a particular pattern. Just in case they are meant to be leather or armored I thought I would check with you guys first.Does his coat have a particular lining color or is it either the light or dark green of the outside? If it were possible a rear view of Kane would be amazing so I can get the trenchcoat pattern right. I’m starting in muslin and I have another cosplay to upgrade in the next month so it isn’t super urgeant. Also, does it have any pockets? I also was wondering about his knee patch thingies. Are they intended to be hard armor? Leather like on a professors elbow patches? or just a different colored fabric?

This was a pretty good book. Forgive me if I get some of the spellings wrong I listened to the audiobook version.
While I enjoyed the book it never really let me get comfortable with it. Some books its really easy to slip into their world but this one always left me uncomfortable with the world and it’s characters. Which is probably a good thing and it’s intent.

Arthur Livingstone is a gaudy shallow egocentric asshole who profits off of human trafficking and worse with questionable taste in decor but has just enough of a human side that he isn’t a complete caricature. And lets face it, how many of of wouldn’t want at least one of his mansions over the top indulgences. I could go for a ball pit room or personal theme songs myself and I appreciate that he made sure his front door hinges would make noise on opening.

Molech was made an effective villain because he was just so awful and you find people like him on the internet all of the time. As horrific as he was he was still believable.

I rather liked Zoey. She wasn’t perfect and never really tried to be. She generally acknowledged her weaknesses and didn’t really have a magic I’m going to be a bad ass moment. Her points of character strength and growth were more I’m tired of being a victim moments. She tried to run when it was reasonable and when she was desperate or backed into a corner she pushed back.

I’m not sure if I want a sequel but I enjoyed this book.

I hope you guys have been getting the kickbacks from my cosplay supply runs to amazon. I go through the link but it would be nice if there was a way for amazon to confirm. If you’ve been seeing orders ranging from makeup, to fabric paint, to magnets with random bursts of rub n buff, odd footwear, and medical adhesives I’m probably at least some of those. I’m I can support the network while working on my hobby.

Mage the Awakening. It’s in the white wolf series of RPGs and runs off of a d10 system. I don’t know how well the other games play but this one was a real mess. It was meant as a sort of hybrid between crunch and fluff so while it had hard mechanics you were supposed to be able to create your own spells and they had a lot of examples with some extremely vague guidelines for doing so. Unfortunately they would violate their own guidelines even in their examples. It made it pretty much impossible to reasonably create new spells. In addition a lot of the spells weren’t well thought out and ripe for abuse. Unfortunately this was me and my friends first tabletop and so we had a strong power gaming mentality and a low role-playing one. We eventually dropped the system and adapted our world and story to the Dresden Files Fate system which was much much better. Before we quite we had figured out a fairly easy way to create a reaction-less rail gun which we could keep in our basement and fire through nearly untraceable magical portals we could put in orbit around the planet. At mid level using only the example spells in the book.

Niantic doesn’t really have a strong history of explaining their games. Ingress has a lot of the same explanation problems. There are hidden interactions that are never explained, you either have to stumble on them by chance or find a community guide.

The game as is is basically a more balanced less buggy version of the beta. I get the impression that someone told them to just kick it out of the door as is. It ended up being released less than a week after the beta ended.

My best guess for the targeting reticle is that
    A) the smaller the higher the catch chance, from forums and news sites
    B) the reticle also acts as a sort of called shot. If you hit the pokemon within the shrinking circle you get an xp bonus based on the size, either Nice 10xp, Great 50xp, or Excellent 100xp. The pokemon all seem to use a sphere collider so actually hitting the pokemon within the circle is difficult. If you are more interested in xp than conserving pokeballs its sometimes useful to go for a larger circle.

In terms of upcoming features I expect there to be a chat since ingress has a fairly robust chat system allowing you to filter by things like faction and distance. I hope there will be friends lists and battling people’s teams. People digging in the code have found evidence for pokemon natures as well as sponsored gyms, such as at mcdonalds. There will be other items as well such as additional pokestop mods and berries.

I don’t know if anyone has gotten high enough but the beta had ultra balls and super rarely(as in I know of only one ever found) Master balls. The stories of someone missing the pokemon with a masterball entirely will be horrifying and epic.

For evolving vs powering up you are better off evolving first. When a pokemon evolves its moves are randomly chosen. In addition its strength is proportional to its previous form, but increasing its strength costs the same amount. When you look at the portrait of your pokemon you can see an arc showing a pokemon’s percentage of max strength(max strength increases with trainer level). When you evolve the pokemon’s power stays at about that same percentage and powering him up increases the same percentage as a lower form. So you should evolve your pokemon with the strongest CP and check to see if you like his move set.

My RPG experience started later in college with DnD 4.0(player), Whitewolf’s Mage the Awakening(player), Dresden Files(FATE system, player), Pokemon Tabletop Adventures(DM), Ghost busters(DM), Starwars Saga(player), Dnd 3.5(player), Atomic Robo(FATE, player), and one of the newer star wars(player). The system I’ve gone deepest into is FATE and its one of my favorites.

I would actually suggest a ruler system provided that you suggest that players and DM can fudge distances slightly. My room mate is running a couple of DnD 5.0 games with that mechanic and he says its pretty intuitive and easy provided that you don’t stress out if something is a little bit off. If a player needs an extra quarter of an inch to do what they want let them. You get a lot of the tactical elements from a grid or hex system but it can be faster and more intuitive with a guide stick.

I’m not a big fan of the d20. As a player and often as a DM I find its easier to parse larger delineations of skill. If you ask a player how good they are at a task on a scale of 1 to 20, the difference between 10 and 11 isn’t as significant as the difference between 5 and 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. It also makes situational skills more meaningful.

In terms of character progression, one of my favorite trends in RPG’s is asking players not to spend points on some of their abilities/skills/feats until they actually need them. Having players hold one or more of their character progression options in reserve until they need it can really help with adjusting the party balance as needed and it tends to guarantee that the selected skill is useful at least once. Another nice trick I’ve seen is having certain small milestones where characters and rearrange one or more of their skills or stats, either because their character has changed via roleplaying, or because they aren’t getting any use out of one of the skills they had previously purchased.

I second the Father Grandfather Interrogation. At least one of the Advertisements should make it in as well. They were all golden. The Finally when everyone is going mad is a really good section as well.

For Nerdcasting the Multiverse Twilight Gulch should make it in.

I’ve been looking at it since I heard about it. The main feature of fig seems to be that it allows both the reward based crowdfunding as well as traditional profit sharing investment. It still requires funding to be met before the project receives any money but this way traditional investment can be counted toward the funding goal.

It looks legit to me and I am so throwing my money their way. Psychonauts is one of my favorite games and I’ve been wanting a sequel since I finished it. I’m glad they are aiming for what looks like a fairly reasonable budget for it as well. If they had been asking for a smaller amount I might have been more worried about the quality of the end project a bit more.

That was really well done. I agree with the confidence thing. I tend to think of Samus as more self assured.

One of my favorites was the voltron fan short that came out a while back.

Okay, so correct me if I’m wrong it sounds like you need:
    1)Case
    2)CPU
    3)RAM
    4)Graphics Card
    5)Motherboard

I think you were wanting an Haf X so lets go ahead and put that down on initially. Lets grab the most expensive and we can scale down if we need to. that will be the HAF 932 which runs about 170.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

I would go with an i7 for cpu since its rather shiny and will probably provide all the processing power you need. Plus that FSB is shiny. That runs you about 340+ shipping. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369&cm_re=i7-_-19-117-369-_-Product

This is where your bottleneck is most likely to be so aiming for the higher end will help your performance. A lot of motherboards support overclocking to support better RAM. There is a good deal of 16 Gigs of G.Skill 2400 cas 10 ram for 108 so that might be worth picking up http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231589

I’m not up to date on graphics cards but you can grab a decent GTX 960 for about 240. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127860

your Motherboard just needs to support everything, so it will probably come in around or under 200. I’m being a bit lazy but this motherboard should serve your needs and gets the best reviews on newegg. It comes to about 140 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157603

    1) $170 HAF X case
    2) $340 i7 cpu
    3) $108 16GB 2400 CAS 10 G.Skill Ram
    4) $240 GTX 960 4GB gpu
    5) $140 ASRock motherboard

that brings you to about a thousand. You can find savings in a number of places in there though. Pick a cheaper case, buy a smaller amount of RAM, 8 gigs is plenty for most purposes. You can get a 2GB version versions of the Graphics card or cheaper graphics cards. A lot of these items also have free shipping and/or rebates.

I’ve been waiting until it finished up to comment. Absolutely worth the wait. The sounds and music were perfect. I especially love the howl sound in the intro, any chance of a ring tone?#buyyourwaytocool The last episode in particular took the sound design up a notch. The short commercials were great I particularly loved the Brown Gas Company one.

Fantastic job as always from everyone involved. You guys always manage to get excellent GM’s to which one can aspire to emulate and learn from. I think Father Grandfather managed to steal the show largely because he somehow managed to be effective. Thank you for another piece of excellent work.
