   In our last episode, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the Nerdapalooza festival, the first iteration of which happened in 2007 – but we only told one side of the story. This time around, we’re talking to Rob Tobias, the main coordinator of Nerdapalooza 2007 in Florida, as well as Magitek, a Florida hip hop group that performed at said event. Their combined tales help paint a much fuller picture of those happenings-ten-years-time-ago. Plus, we’ve brought along some tasty jams!

   Let’s face it, nerdy music would hardly exist if it weren’t for nostalgia. So let’s get nostalgic this episode – because it’s been 10 years since the first Nerdapalooza!

   In this episode, Marc With a C talks to the face of Nerdapalooza, John “Hex” Carter, about one of the most important milestones in the history of the nerd music genre. Yes, this beloved music festival is now old enough to look back on. Time just flies by doesn’t it? I They look back on the formative years of the earliest fests bearing this hallowed name, while we traipse through some of those early tunes from those bygone days – sandwiched by a couple of new nerdy jams for good measure!

Join Marc as he shines a light on the wealth of sparkly new tunes. This episode leans heavy on the nerdcore hi-hop side of things, but there’s still a little bit of chip, comedy and geek rock to go around. Yeah, we used to be a 24/7 streaming station devoted solely to nerdy music, but that chapter has ended and like all good Pokémon, we’ve evolved into a brand new form. We’re now a monthly, movie-length show scientifically engineered to quench your geeky music thirst. A block of tracks with intermittent DJing – just like the radio! In this inaugural episode, Marc plays for you a smattering of some of new songs the station wasn’t able to add to rotation before the plug was pulled. 10. Bits · Rhymes · and · Life :: Episode 10 :: I’m NOT a Binger, I JUST Game a Lot

    Enter the world of Bits, Rhymes, and Life with Mega Ran and K-Murdock, the foremost hip-hop gamers around.  In each episode, the duo narrate their tales – lavishly produced and soundtracked by K-Murdock for an immersive storytelling experience that delves deep into their nerdy lives.

    Ran reflects back to the days of Xbox’s arrival and how he handled a bout of “game binging” with Halo. But he’s not the only one with a tale of obsessive gaming; we also hear stories from fellow NPCs (Nerdy People of Color) – Doug Funnie, who tells a story about his struggle “speed running” Super Mario Brothers 2 as well as Emmanual “1-Up” Auoud who recounts his affinity/obsession with a couple classic Square Enix games.It’s equal part embarrassment and entertainment on this episode of Bits, Rhymes, & Life, but let’s face it – we’ve all been there.
