    With the past behind us, we look to the present to see where representation has come since our early days, but beyond even that, we take a look at the horizon and venture to guess what the future will hold for not only us, but for generations to come! Welcome to the Gays of Future Present!

    After the cliffhanger at the end of our last episode, BeeJay is safely back behind the microphone to bring guide our crew through a new discussion on LGBTQIA+ representation. This time around we take a look at modern day representation in TV, movies, and much more in pop culture. Whether it’s Schitt’s Creek, Stranger Things, and Valkyrie being the MCU’s first LGBTQIA+ super hero or Steven Universe, RuPaul’s DragCon, or Marvel’s Jessica Jones, we are seeing representation on a level that couldn’t have dreamed of twenty years ago. Not content to stop there, we also take a look towards the future and discuss what we want to see in the future so that generations to come will be able to live out and proud!

    Dear listeners, the dog days of summer are here and we are moist and ready to chat, dish the dirt, and spill the tea about the month in pop culture! Before you go own any further, be warned, there are spoilers a plenty within the first hour of this show as we discuss (in-depth) the newest season of Netflix’s uber popular series, Stranger Things, and the final film in Marvel’s Phase Three (AKA The Infinity Saga), Spiderman: Far From Home. From there we dive into Amazon Prime’s series, Good Omens, and Marvel Comics’ Jason Aaron-penned, world shattering crossover event, War of the Realms.     The questions come in hot and heavy in this episode as the boys discuss the trials and tribulations of New York City landmarks. Then the power house duo of Jamie and Giana of Broadly Entertaining stop by to talk about how pub trivia (or drunken Jenga) will change the world while also hitting the snarkcasters with quizzes in the form of limericks. It gets crazy when the mini cattle-prod comes out.

    Cracking fans, throwing shade… You Need To Calm Down because it’s time for PRIDE! Check your Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels and get ready to dish the dirt and spill the tea about the things that are making us gag this month!

    The boys have arrived to the rainbow-draped round table to tackle the topics that are hot on their sparkly lips. There may be sunshine on the street at your local pride parade, but our first topic still wants to live in the dark ages as we discuss the most recent attempt for a Straight Pride parade in Boston, capitalism during pride month, and then the pastel rainbow shines for Taylor Swift’s new bop, “You Need To Calm Down” and its boost to LGBTQIA+ visibility as well as the increased donations to GLAAD! From there they chat about Godzilla: King of the Monsters, some highlights from this year’s E3 including the Final Fantasy 7 remake, Pokemon Sword and Shield, and the news that a Breath of the Wild sequel is in the works, and Crystal Crisis. The second round of topics include Sarazanmai, Eugene from The Try Guys beautiful coming out video, “Weird Al” in concert, and a complete thrashing of Dark Phoenix (full of spoilers… you’ve been warned!). The boys close out the conversation with their picks for their 1-UPs… the things that are giving them LIFE!!!

    We were on the Edge of Glory as RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11 came to a close and our new drag superstar was crowned. But- did season 11 live up to the legacy of the past decade of drag? Tune in to find out!

    Pat, Bryan, and Erik take their seats at the round table with a piping hot kettle of tea and are ready to discuss their thoughts on the crowning of the next drag superstar.     Our cranky co-hosts finally return to explain the technical difficulties behind their two-month absence before sharing updates on Nelson Lugo’s upcoming wedding and Schaffer the Darklord’s recent unemployment. Will Lugo adopt a lethal creature? Will Schaffer escape a nest of vampires? Are those aforementioned technical difficulties really resolved?

  10. Flame On :: Episode 225 :: Avengers Endgame Review

    Flame ON! is the all-gay, all-geek podcast. Tune in as we dish on the latest in pop and queer culture.

    What started 11 years ago with Iron Man, has come to a star studded, 3 hour conclusion and we’re here to discus it in all of it’s spoilery goodness! This is it folks, we are in the Endgame!

    Flame ON! Assemble! But before we get any further, be warned that this episode is chock full of spoilers! No Infinity Stone is left unturned and plot points are discussed in detail, so if you haven’t seen Endgame, turn back now and return to guarding the Soul Stone on Vormir until you have! The boys kick off the conversation with the highs, the parts of the movie that they loved, made them cheer, and made them cry. Then they take a few moments discussing things that were missed opportunities before wrapping up with some final thoughts and flame ratings!
