Pre-Order Nintendo’s Amiibo Figurines :: Full List
Nintendo’s answer to the collectable, interactive figurines Skylanders and Disney Infinity are finally yours to own – you can pre-order Amiibo today. We’ve got the full list and links to the first series after the jump.
As with many Nintendo products, it’s got a dorky name – Amiibo it packs a punch. We’ve seen them in person, and these figurines are hyper-detailed. The sculpting is amazing and the paint jobs are impeccable; even going so far as to have matte, gloss, and metallic finishes as well as transparent plastics on the same figure when appropriate. UPDATE: Nintendo has been advertising the prototypes which are considerably less detailed. What’s more, they’re functional. This first round of Amiibos are themed around Super Smash Bros. and each figure can synch with your 3DS or WiiU ,letting you develop and improve that character’s stats – saving it in the figurine. It’s a strange way to port around gaming data, but it’s also an enticing fusion of modern technology with old school playdates. No release date is set, but they’ll be out before the end of the year and likely just before or just after the October 3rd release date of Super Smash Bros for the 3DS. Notably, Marth, the Animal Crossing Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer aren’t yet pre-orderable and Zelda and Pit from the above image didn’t make it into the first wave. Likely Marth and co. will be available soon making for a very respectable but a launch of 12 figures. Fingers crossed for Ness in wave 2!
