Episode 138 :: Microsode 2-Pack – James Bond & H.P. Lovecraft
It’s a Microsode mash-up!
Microsodes are where YOU choose a topic and we talk about it for 15-30 minutes. This episode of Nerdy Show is two Microsodes stuck together: James Bond 007 and the Multiple Bond Theory and H.P. Lovecraft. What do these two topics have to do with each other? Nothing at face value – but the discussions are fascinating journeys into multimedia and some serious pop culture nerding.
In our James Bond discussion (brought to you by Trench 88 & Max Acree) Cap, Matt, and Colin team-up to talk about the connectivity (or lack thereof) between Bond films and the theory that could have united them. We discuss falling out with Skyfall, the original 1967 Casino Royale, what the future may hold for the franchise, and much, much Moore.
Next, Cap and Hex are joined by Doug, LaForge, Brings, Wall, and Poole of Ghostbusters: Resurrection because ViralDemon had a carnal lust for cosmic horror. We discuss the unknowable greatness that is 20th century author H.P. Lovecraft – the terrifying concepts he created, his works, and the myriad films, comics, games, etc. that have been inspired by him. Dare we find ourselves lost amidst vile mists in labyrinthine corridors of non-euclidean geometry where cruel wordless sounds, not uttered by man since long before the Dark Awakening of certain grotesque cephalopods, echoes endlessly from anthracite chasms long-forgotten? We do.
