1: I tried to explain why these crystal engines need the ability to flow air in and out in this episode, and it made sense to me, but I can see how it may not have been all that clear in retrospect. So I casually mentioned Air Hogs, which was a toy that launched as a line of compressed-air powered airplanes. You’d pump them up like a Super Soaker, and then the force of the air would push a piston up and down to spin the propellor and you’d be able to radio control them around until they ran out of air (I don’t believe they still work this way, though the Air Hogs brand still sells RC stuff): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujWAKd8o3r8
There are plenty of people out there converting existing engines to compressed air (presumably for fun)
and even machining their own:
In the context of Lightning Dogs, the idea of a reservoir of compressed air has been replaced with force emitting crystals on each cylinder, so the compression happens on each cylinder just like it does in an internal combustion engine. This allows us to keep the cool looking intake manifolds and exhausts that are familiar to us now, but still have a bit of that sci-fi weirdness to it.
2) A lot of cars are doing that now to cut down on NVH (Noise, vibration, harmonics). They are playing sounds at a frequency that cancel out unwanted mechanical noise through the car speakers, or enhance desirable ones. I’ve always found it conceptually cheesy, and don’t like it. I’m kind of a Ron Swanson in that way.
3) We’ve been doing a lot of work lately to make it seem like the vehicles are part of a team visually. We haven’t done a decal-pass on them yet, but the idea is that they will have a definite “family resememblance.”March 21, 2017 at 2:44 am #56409
I don’t know why but I figured the Glamborgini would be a heavily modified LM002.March 21, 2017 at 10:00 am #56410
That is really at the heart of the problem with Glampire vehicles I think. Glambo is funny to say, but is that really the brand he’d choose, given what we know about him? I think as a reclusive, puppet master type figure, he’s probably more in something understated that has a driver, like a Maybach. Or maybe like one of these 1000SE-L conversions:

With all the different vehicles The Heroes and Baddies have, is their going to be color schemes to tell the different between factions and gang’s vehicles
(Like how some of the old TNMT vehicles had the same color scheme)

The short answer is yes. Everything the Lightning Dogs drive will all share a shape language and similar color scheme. All the wastelander vehicles also share an aesthetic, though as re-constituted junk vehicles they aren’t going to look as much like they came from the same factory. The’re more likely to share a specific gang emblem than a full-vehicle livery, but we haven’t done anything with that stuff yet.March 27, 2017 at 8:54 pm #56444
I doubt it would be in the show, but would you, or have you, designed a petal system to take in a dogs hind legsMarch 28, 2017 at 10:01 am #56449
I’ve done a number of Rover interiors, but if you go check out Tony’s Lightning Dog designs, you’ll see they are anthro enough to have People Feet, so there doesn’t need to be anything special about how the pedals are configured.March 28, 2017 at 10:14 am #56450
what is the means on how the Diamond Dogs getting around while all diamond up, because I fell the Diamond Dogs are to bulky to drive a car?

Y’know… for some reason, I always pictured them running. Not at super speed. But more like the T-1000. They run and run, but never slow. Never get tired. And sure, maybe you hop in the Lightning Rod and speed away. You’re safe for now. But you know in the back of your mind, they’re running in your direction. While you’re sleeping, they’re running. Eating? Running. They’re unstoppable.
I suppose for their initial deployment, Jack would drop them off in a big truck or transport. He’d open the back hatch, then gtfo. Like letting a wild and dangerous animal loose.

I’d love to see them use the Secret of Mana system where they get shot all over the wasteland out of a cannon, personally. Then you’d get the classic Dragon Ball/Voltron conceit of having some container land in the middle of nowhere, and see some crazy monster climb out

@doug I love the sound of that, and it makes me want to hear more about the Diamond Dogs
@Maxarcee the best part about that type of entrance is that the DDs might not need a container because I can see their Crystal armor acting like one and some poor fool seeing it as a massive Crystal that came from the sky like gift from a god.
