  3. RPGS For Charities: 48 Hours of Sleep-Deprived Roleplaying For A Cause

RPGSforCharityThere are countless ways to be a hero, but in all heroic acts the core is always the same: Being a hero means doing as much good as you can with whatever abilities you have.

RPGS (Role Players Giving a -Bleep-) For Charities is a small group of big-hearted nerds’ way of doing just that. This Labor Day weekend (September 5th-7th), RPGS For Charities will hold its second annual main event; a 48-hour marathon Pathfinder session and donation drive. Each party member has chosen a charitable organization to represent, and will earn a portion of the total donations based on how long they stay awake and keep their character alive. The marathon will be streamed live over Twitch and YouTube, with the donation lines open throughout. (more…)

  4. Ghostbusters at Comic Con: The New Movie, The Comics, The Boardgame, & Beyond

ghostbusters get real con exclusiveThe creative team from IDW’s Ghostbusters series and the designers behind Cryptozoic’s Ghostbusters: The Board Game joined forces to talk about the future of the franchise.

The current Ghostbusters miniseries, Ghostbusters Get Real, is already in stores and features a multiversal crossover between the film characters (which the team refers to as “Ghostbusters Prime”) and their cartoon counterparts from The Real Ghostbusters. But at the panel IDW revealed pages showcasing the event is even farther reaching. It’s not clear in what capacity they’ll be appearing, but expect to see the ghost busting teams from the animated Extreme Ghostbusters and the 2011 video game Sanctum of Slime, which IDW editor Tom Waltz wrote. The ongoing series wrapped up 2014 but the series is coming back, beginning this October with an annual that will lead into a new ongoing by the regular series creative team of Erik Burnham and Dan Schoening. 5. Dungeons & Doritos: REMASTERED

    DnD Remastered

On a fateful night in October 2009, four warriors gathered in the back of a closed comic shop. Under the sage instruction of a ninja rapper they shed their Midgard visages and found themselves transported into a realm of myth and legend, a realm of peril and hilarity, a realm where flavor-dusted corn chips are mined from the very earth… a realm… called Doritodonia.

Thus began Nerdy Show‘s epic tabletop roleplaying series, Dungeons & Doritos. What started as a tongue-in-cheek one-shot episode of our fledgeling podcast took on a life of its own. Enter Jen’Ifer the egomaniacal tiefling warlock, Chair – a dining room chair transformed into a naked and crazed dwarf, Vimak the fish-out-of-water goliath shaman, and Jamela the overly sensual dragonborn.

We’re proud to present Dungeons & Doritos Remastered – our debut quest preserved and enhanced by modern audio magic! Stream or download the new editions of the first two episodes below. (more…)
