Episode 003 :: Never Mind the Gearbox

nevermind the gearbox 300

Our alternative culture special focusing on “punk” of all sorts – steam, diesel, cyber, and beyond.  To commemorate this discussion we’ve interview steam punk musician and alternative culture man-about-town, DOCTOR STEEL via an exchange of telegraphs and laterally-cut 78 RPM records.  The good doctor shares with us his vision for a toy utopia and feelings on other brilliant eccentrics, such as industrialist Andrew Ryan, who’s utopia beneath the waves, Rapture, has been the subject of much discussion.  Also, Cap gives us the low-down on BioShock 2 and Dante’s Inferno (the game, not the epic poem), Brian talks about the upcoming Atomic Robo animated short, Mike shares what Sesame Street taught him, and so much more!

This episode is coming in late as a result of a devastating attack from Brian’s arch-nemesis the Lawnmower Man.  He beat us down, but we did not surrender.  We managed to save the audio, which has been reassembled from the ground up and undergone many restorative procedures so that at long last we may present it to you.

    I just want to say, this is one of my favorite episodes, it had me laughing almost none stop. I want to thank… the guy above me says it’s Cap but I thought I read somewhere that Hex was working at it… anyway, thank you so much for salvaging this episode. Keep up the good work guys.

    P.S. You are my first media where I don’t mind interviews, I hate them on other pod casts or the radio, I think it’s because you guys don’t stop being funny during your interviews.

    @Abyzz

    Yeah, it was me this time. We recovered from a similar (but not Lawnmower Man related) mishap last season and Hex took care of that one. This time it was me. I only wish I could’ve got the audio up to snuff. It was either go with the hiss, or make us sound like we’re underwater.

    I’m glad that we can make interviews fun for you. We’ll keep it that way! Thanks for the love, amigo.
